[edit] Split proposal

Support as nominator. Creating an article such as this one implies that the two roads share more than just a common route number. This does not appear to be the case. A case where an article like this one would be acceptable is in the case of Massachusetts/Rhode Island Route 114A, which straddles the border between the two states. Route 121, however, does not straddle the MA/RI border, nor does the road change designations as frequently as Route 114A does (in fact, Route 121 only changes designations once - at the state line.

The above text is a direct copy-and-paste of the discussion of MA/NH Route 286 with the appropriate changes. I feel that the two articles have the same issue. If there is a feeling of plagiarism in the first paragraph, I apologize for that now. I'm just bringing out the issue. Ed 16:57, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Erasmussen

  • Oppose per Rhode Island Route 78.  V60 干什么? · VDemolitions · VRoads (路) 17:09, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Why is the article at "Rhode Island Route 121" and not at a more "neutral" name? --NE2 17:22, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Comment The route and route numbers on both sides of the state line have a common origin and history. The roads were always numbered since routes were numbered in New England and had the same number in both states throughout its history even after a few number changes. We can move it to a more "neutral" name as NE2 suggested but I think merging is appropriate in this particular case. --Polaron | Talk 01:47, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
  • That sounds like a good idea. Ed 01:33, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
