Rhineland is a village in Montgomery County, Missouri, United States. The population was 176 at the 2000 census, at which time it was a town.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 176 people, 66 households, and 45 families residing in the town. The population density was 515.4 people per square mile (199.9/km²). There were 68 housing units at an average density of 199.1/sq mi (77.2/km²). The racial makeup of the town was 98.86% White, and 1.14% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.27% of the population.
There were 66 households out of which 39.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.1% were married couples living together, 12.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.8% were non-families. 31.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 24.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.33.
In the town the population was spread out with 31.3% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 13.1% from 45 to 64, and 17.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 79.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.2 males.
The median income for a household in the town was $37,000, and the median income for a family was $41,250. Males had a median income of $28,750 versus $18,750 for females. The per capita income for the town was $16,989. About 6.0% of families and 8.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.6% of those under the age of eighteen and 25.0% of those sixty five or over.
In 1993, Rhineland was devastated by the Great Flood of 1993 and became the first federally funded town to be moved out of a flood plain. All the houses in the town were moved about 1½ miles uphill from their original locations.
