Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Nimes was recently officially allowed to be considered part of Rhone by the INAO. I'll try to verify, but if this is true, the "Other Appellations" section should be edited to reflect that. --BridgeBurner 18:26, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

The intro states that the North makes Syrah reds and Viognier whites. True but incomplete--as we see when we get to the description of the appellations. There are three types of Northern Rhone wines: Syrah-based, pure Viognier, and Marsanne-and-or-Roussanne whites.

For that matter, there are plenty of single-varietal wines produced in the South, incl. some in CdP. Perhaps some slight qualification would be in order in the intro. RogerLustig 01:40, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Renaming

I believe that this article should be renamed "Rhône wine" to match the other wine articles on wikipedia. --Eubanks718 19:18, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I would support that move.Agne 19:53, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

I would suggest that the Côtes du Rhône article be merged into this. It contains useful additional information, but I believe this is the real main article.CCS 03:48, 17 April 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kudpung (talkcontribs)

Oppose. This is clearly the article on the wine region, providing overview of the region's appellations, wine styles, grape varieties and so on. Sometimes it makes more sense to lump several AOCs together in one article, or to treat very minor AOCs only in a regional or subregional article. But in this case, a separate article for the largest AOC of this region is clearly motivated in my mind. Tomas e (talk) 17:06, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you Tomas for your feedback. I have now considerably expanded the original article on Côtes du Rhône. Please feel free to add to it or edit it.KudpungKudpung 19:09, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Missing articles for CDR

As a start, I've created a page for Beaumes de Venise. If you think I'm on the wrong track, let me know and I'll get back to my Thailand stuff. Kudpung (talk) 04:38, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Costières de Nîmes

Full text of the communiction to the Wiki editor:

Bonjour,
