[edit] Timestamps

The {{RFCpol}} template includes a timestamp parameter, but none of the listings on the RFCpol list show timestamps. Why is this? One cannot know how long an item has been listed for RFC without checking one or more page histories. — Athaenara 00:00, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RFC not added to list

The RFCpol template says "This tag will automatically place the page on the {{RFCpol list}}." I added the template to Talk:Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazagham#RFC on cleanup for WP:NOT#SOAPBOX but that RFC has not been included in the list.

The RFCpol list instructions specify "Do not edit the RFC list directly; the bot will invariably undo your edits." This was the text in the RFC:

section=RFC on cleanup for WP:NOT#SOAPBOX
reason=One user repeatedly removes referenced content (and the references section) and adds inline external links to the organisation website and an 'organisational structure' section which includes subsections of tables of nearly thirty names of organisation officers. He posted on article talk only while the article was protected (history), removes user talk page warnings (history), and has been blocked several times (log).

I've never used this process before and it's likely that I did something wrong, but I don't know what it was oh, crumb. It was probably the "=" symbols in the urls for the page histories and block log. OK, I'll repost it without those links. — Athaenara 00:41, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Postscript 1: I edited the entry to remove "=" characters, leaving the timestamp undisturbed, but the RFC is still not listed. Should I also have replaced the timestamp with 5 tildes? — Athaenara 01:00, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Postscript 2: I edited the entry further to replace the timestamp with tildes and remove square bracket markup in the talk section heading; still not listed. — Athaenara 01:25, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for reporting this. I'm not sure what the cause is; you did everything right. I removed the # in the header and tagging -- let's see if that fixes it. I'm not sure if it will, but it's worth a try. MessedRocker (talk) 01:58, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for responding so quickly. Another user posted about it on User talk:Athaenara#RfC as well. I considered adding it directly, which would be simplicity itself, but there's a warning on the list page that the bot will invariably undo such edits. — Athaenara 02:22, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Following the lead of user Rjm656s (see below), I added it myself. — Athaenara 08:04, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RfC

My RfC was not added to the list (Talk:Adam Smith Foundation) I added it to the list myself --Rjm656s 05:34, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Update

I noticed that RFCs have not been getting updated. I believe this is being caused by a poorly-formatted RFC tagging (which can easily happen), as such things cause the bot to get all confused and not working. I am investigating this. MessedRocker (talk) 06:56, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

Can you also make that box that hangs off the bottom of it on the article talk pages go away? — Athaenara 08:06, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Great, you did it! — Athaenara 22:18, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Also, wouldn't ‘listed a request’ make more sense than ‘requested a request’? — Athaenara 08:11, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
I did this and hope that's ok. — Athaenara 22:18, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
Maybe the code needs to be modified to make it more robust. -- StrengthOfNations (talk) 21:09, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] New RFC on a page that already has an RFC?

I started an RFC (see here) at Talk:Allegations of state terrorism committed by the United States. There is a previously existing RFC earlier on the page here (which basically went nowhere and is at a dead end as of now). The RFC I filed is not listed here - does having another RFC on the same article block this somehow?--Bigtimepeace | talk | contribs 05:54, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] bot dead?

i added an rfc to Talk:Dick Cheney nearly 24 hours ago, it's not showing up in the list here, and it's not in the list of badly formatted rfc's. i think the bot has died. Anastrophe (talk) 06:12, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] help!

I added [1] but it's not showing. If the problem is a formatting mistake please fix it. If the problem is that the bot only runs at intervals I suggest you note the length of expected delay on the front page. Thanks. Andyvphil (talk) 14:10, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

The listing finally started showing up, but not for a couple days. Anyone know why? Andyvphil (talk) 22:22, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
