PC Engine/Turbografx16 external link page

ooookkkk,i'll be good,i promise12scolsrud 01:36, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Hi ReyBrujo, You've kept removing my site from the external link page on the PC Engine/Turbografx16 page and I still wonder why. You mention that it is a new site. But the site is well active and has been around for 4 years now with 260 games reviewed for the system and thousand of screenshots and scans. You adviced to post a message on the discussion board and I did, and people have replied that the site was reliable and very interesting, and deserved to be in the list. If you had removed all the other 'fan' sites from the list I would have understood, but you haven't. Thanks for your help :)--Lkermel 05:21, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, my bad, the URL I added was wrong and pointed to a dead link, indeed. The correct URL is www.vgden.com ... --Lkermel 06:27, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Hi, thanks a lot for fixing the link and adding it back to the page :) I initially said 'pirates' because I have several pc engine bootlegs reviewed on my site (http://www.vgden.com/vgden_pi.htm) and I thought it was ok to mention it to illustrate the article (One section actually talk about unofficial variations). Maybe I shouldn't have used 'pirates' but 'bootlegs' or 'unofficial' instead. Either way, thanks for fixing it, you rule :).--Lkermel 17:01, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Image question

I don't know if you will know the answer, but you might. I was wondering, if images are in the Commons area, it is ok to put them in image categories here, correct? Example Image:Ogle County Burlington Chicago and Quincy depot Oregon Il.jpg is in the Commons, but I have tagged it to a category here on the Wikipedia. I see other projects have done that, so I was doing it with them all that I found on Illinois. Just want to make sure that I am doing it right. Also put a project tag on the talk page.--Kranar drogin 00:18, 3 June 2007 (UTC)

Third opinion needed

ReyBrujo, I hope this is okay to do, but we need as third opinion in the Mr.Children discography talk [9] page. One of the editors refuses to, I guess, bend the rules and allow tables and such to be use to list the artists discography and the method used to source sales data. You can see the revision I had made in the discography history for reference. A third opinion would be greatly appreciated. --24.233.167.16 10:52, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

I worked on cleaning up the Category:People from Illinois, and am about to work on Category:People from Chicago. I was wondering, the sub categories under Chicago, is there a way I can changed the names of a few of them so instead of one being "Chicago writers", it will instead be "Writers from Chicago"? Same with the others: Chicago baseball players - Basball players from Chicago Chicago golfers - Golfers from Chicago Chicago musicians - Musicians from Chicago Chicago politicians - Politicians from Chicago Chicago writers - Writers from Chicago I wanted to know now, before I start going through all these names and organizing them a bit better than having a huge among of people in a category. Moccasin, Illinois

Hey Rey, couple of your admin buds have totally messed up Moccasin, Illinois. There are suppose to be two different pages, one for Moccasin, Illinois, and another for Moccasin Township, Effingham County, Illinois. I think they merged them, and redirected. They are two different bodies of government. One is a village overseen by a Village President, and the other is a township overseen by a Township Supervisor. Is there any way you could unmerged these please? If you have questions, let me know.--Kranar drogin 16:34, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

RE: Protection requests for Italian Army Ranks and Ranks and Insignia of NATO Armies/OF/Italy

Problem user seems to fit the description on WP:LTA/Roitr. – Steel 00:08, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Reference? These are the ranks in use as the Italian Army presents them on its homepage:
  • Generals
  • higher officers
  • officers
  • NCO's
  • soldiers and the rank "Maresciallo d'Italia" doesn't show up anywhere! Furthermore I was a member of the Italian Army for 4 years (2000-2004) and I can tell you for sure that a) the rank "Maresciallo d'Italia" was abolished on June 2nd, 1946 (it was a rank used by the fascists in WW2 and bringing it back would be like Germany introducing SS-ranks and insignia today) and b) the insignia user:Horemsa created (Image:210px-IT-Army-OF10.png) is ludicrous as it combines a 4- star generals rank with the golden wall symbol of the colonel rank, something that is and has never been in use or even contemplated by the Italian Army! So what is there to discuss??? user:Horemsa is trying to include false information into the article, he has been told so three times on talkpages and only as it became clear that he does ignore talkpages has he been told about his error in edit summaries! Still he continues to ignore the facts and reinserts his images in articles and gives as reason: "I have all right for it." or "I have put it here only for acquaintance. What it is difficult for you to understand? It not officially, but for the general knowledge" or "It is simple for the general knowledge and all. We have claim that is only Conjectural Design and it is not official". Conjectural Design???? And on top of that user:Horemsa is one of the 13 (!) socketpups of User:Roitr. Therefore I will not waste my time and discuss with one of the worst vandals on wikipedia, but rather continue to work on my projects: create all Coat of Arms of the Italian Army, create structural graphics of all active Armies and create articles about all 88 Alpini battalions. Anyway- thanks for protecting the articles. --noclador 00:26, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi Rey, yesterday I created a new page, Murder By Tejuana & Treachery By Bush And The Supreme Court. You sent me a message yesterday regarding this page. I have since cleaned up a bit.

Richard Purdie

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Richard Purdie, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. mms 16:30, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Dear Witch King! :)

Smile a little, smile a little, all along the road;
Every life must have its burden, every heart its load.
Why sit down in gloom and darkness with your grief to sup?
As you drink Fate's bitter tonic, smile across the cup.

Smile upon the troubled pilgrims whom you pass and meet;
Frowns are thorns, and smiles are blossoms, oft for weary feet.
Do not make the way seem harder by a sullen face;
Smile a little, smile a little, brighten up the place.

Smile upon your undone labour; not for one who grieves
O'er his task waits wealth or glory; he who smiles achieves.
Though you meet with loss and sorrow in the passing years,
Smile a little, smile a little... even through your tears!

Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Have a beautiful day, dear ReyBrujo! :)

Fair use rationale for Image:GBA DragonBallZ BuusFury.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:GBA DragonBallZ BuusFury.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. The POV you are taking is that there is no difference between two different models of a product (i.e. there are 4, 8, 30, and 80 GB models, and your image only shows the 30GB). This very obviously detracts from the article. Also, NPOV dictates that your opinion on a product (which appears to be a factor here, in that for some reason you see no difference between the new and old models) stays out of the matter. The only time I've ever seen the featured get a protect is when it's taking an absolutely massive pounding

And by that I mean literally moment by moment vandalism. But there are just as many people watching the featured article as there are editing it. I used to think the featured should be protected, too, but anything that happens won't last seconds on a good day. HalfShadow 04:03, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Can you take over reverting for me, then? Seriously, that kid needs to be blocked. All he's done his entire career is engage in disputes over what genre a video game is. That, or some other tiny thing he needs to throw a tantrum about.—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 04:49, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Stephen A. Douglas

Just to let you know, I am unwatching the Stephen A. Douglas page. It took me 15 minutes to detect and fix all of the vandalism on that page. Since you don't think that the page warrants semi-protection, you can spend the time fixing the vandalism that isn't noticed for days. I don't have time for this crap. I am pretty sick of Wikipedia catering to vandals and children. IvoShandor 13:51, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

As a note, I have no idea how long the vandalism I fixed remained but it was several days. I am not even sure who added it, it was not a simple matter of a revert though. Have fun with that. IvoShandor 13:55, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
I am sorry if my comments are taken as harsh, personal or mean. They aren't meant to be, just to show my genuine frustration with the party of processes that don't work on Wikipedia. This place is a bureaucratic hell hole sometimes. IvoShandor 14:05, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

Link

hi! sorry, i was not trying to promote my link when I a link to digpicz.com page. digg users have been wanting picture section real long and i made it for them! can i add it back, please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.198.226.118 (talk) 19:07, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, but Wikipedia guidelines about external links state that, if your site is noteworthy, it will be added by someone else, not the owner. Also, the site is rather new and is still not that important. Maybe in a couple of years. -- ReyBrujo 19:17, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi! You told me that digpicz page, I was adding to digg's wikipedia page was not noteworthy. I would like to tell you that Digg's community has been begging for picture section for months. (just like video page has small items, they wanted [pics] have a section was well, with thumbnails). So I helped them out with digpicz.com.

I can have any Digg power user add the link to Digg. I think Digg power users (tamar, msaleem, suxmonkey or ilker, or mrbabyman) can assure you that is a great site to have added to wikipedia. Should I ask them to add it? They'll be more than happy to help me. And they have all the rights to do it, because they are power users. Then at least you won't be able to tell me that I am promoting my site. Because there is nothing to promote, it's a picture site for entertainment. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.198.226.118 (talk) 21:53, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

That is not enough for Wikipedia. What I can offer you is to post a note at the Digg talk page to ask whether the external link is suitable. Personally, that Digg has an article does not mean a site trying to "fill a void" in the article subject is notable enough, but maybe they will agree with you. -- ReyBrujo (talk) 01:48, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

DS Homebrew Planet Dev-Scene

Sorry, but you removed a site (http://planet.dev-scene.com/) from the external links page on November 13th due to your deeming it a link added mostly to "promote a site". I do not think this was needed, and am adding it again. I have no affiliation with this site, but think it is a useful site, containing no adverts or malware, people deserve to know about. Please be more careful with your future reversions or the page may be locked by an administrator again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Monsterfrog (talkcontribs)

Thank you, ReyBrujo, for supporting my RfB, which I withdrew at a final tally of (33/12/1). I failed to overcome the not unforeseeable opposition, but I am humbled by some extremely supportive, encouraging words I could read. In order to honor your trust, I once again vow to continue working and improving. Please contact me should you have any advice or recommendation to give. Or, should you need assistance. I am, as will always be, at your service. Again, please accept my most sincere gratitude.

article of games with over 1 million sold

Hey ReyBrujo, I just wanted to give you a heads up that a lot of Sony fanboys from GameTrailers are coming over and editing the Playstation 3 section and then citing VGChartz. So far they have added Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4, and changed the Resistance numbers all with a citation to VGChartz. I know referencing to VGChartz is not allowed and seen as an unreliable source so I just wanted to let you know that you might have to police that article. I've informed an Admin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.65.22.89 (talk) 21:05, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

OK - sounds fine. I understand about having links no matter what the language now. Thanks. I didn't consider these two links were that valuable because they (at the very least) weren't set up as references; just (external) links to outside pages. Having said that, I can appreciate your fix. Thanks again. :D E_dog95 Hi 03:59, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

SqueakBox reverted your warning

Are we finally clear on who the real problem editor in the whole "co-" issue is? SB has a distinct POV that he's trying to enforce, and he doesn't care to be warned against reinserting it. Mr Which??? 05:09, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Its considered bad form to send template warnings to experienced users, please do not add templates to my user page again, ReyBrujo. Who exactly are you implying is a problem, Mr Which. Somebody has being adding this dispute as a ref and the co- as fact to almost any article that Wales is mentioned in, which is clearly an NPOV violation, Slashdot being a good example and one has to wonder why certain editors want to engage in defending this kind of off topic POV insertions. Its one think to add this material to wikipedia or the Walkes and Sanger articles but to add it to any article merely because Wales is mentioned is not okay, we have NPOV and BLP policies to cover this kind of stuff. In my opinion Jimbo got it right here. Thanks for your attention. Thanks, SqueakBox 05:34, 24 December 2007 (UTC)
