Reynaldo Rueda

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reynaldo Rueda( born February 3, 1956 in Medellín) is a Colombian football manager, currently in charge of the Honduras national football team.

Rueda's claim to fame was from his job as the Colombian Youth Coach. With the Colombian Sub 20 he finished 3rd in the Sub 20 World Cup in 2003, He also lead the Colombian sub 17 to a 4th place finish that same year. After a disastrous start to qualifying Colombia promoted him to being the Senior Coach. Colombia failed to qualify by only 1 point, and the blame was placed on Rueda even though Colombia only had 1 point after 5 games when he took Charge. He is currently the coach for Honduras national football team which he coached during the 2007 Gold Cup without most of their stars and did very well much like in 2005 Gold Cup when he took a very young Colombian squad that he lead to the semi-finals. He also lead Colombia to a 4th place finish in Copa America 2004 Peru where he also took a fairly young squad
