Rexair LLC is an American manufacturer of Home Cleaning Systems and is currently based in Troy, Michigan. Rexair is predominately known for their production and marketing of vacuum cleaners.

Along with its corporate headquarters in Troy, Rexair also has manufacturing facilities in Cadillac, Michigan and Toledo, Ohio.

[edit] History

The company was founded in 1929 by Leslie H. Green, who marketed a bagless vacuum cleaner. In 1936, the company introduced a vacuum cleaner with a water filtration system, a feature that would become the focus of Rexair's marketing. The "Rainbow" series of home cleaning systems was introduced in 1955 and became the company's flagship product, which it remains to this day.

In 1959, the company was purchased by businessman J.V. (Sandy) Sanders, who restructured the company to focus on direct marketing of their products via independently owned distributors. This system, known as "The Rainbow Opportunity", still remains to this date. Direct marketing of vacuum cleaners is often associated with unsolicited door-to-door sales; although the company claims that in-home demonstrations are now by appointment only.
