Rex Roy (October 24, 1962 — ) is a free-lance automotive journalist and photographer based in Detroit, Michigan.

A award-winning refugee of Detroit's advertising community, Roy began his writing career in journalism in 2004 with a series of articles published by Edmunds.com [[1]] and their enthusiast site, InsideLine.com.
Rex Roy is a journalistic personality of rising importance in Detroit. His work is published internationally and is viewed by over 2 million readers per month according to tallies provided by his regular outlets.

By 2007, Roy's articles and reviews of vehicles were regularly published by AOL [[2]], WindingRoad.com [[3]], Sport Truck Magazine, TheCarConnection.com [[4]] and other automotive-centric outlets.
In November 2007, MBI Publishing released Roy's book, Motor City Dream Garages [5], a 192-page coffee table book. Roy photographed approximately 70 percent of the book's images, while Detroit shooter Bobby Alcott [6] shot the balance. This book has positioned Roy as an outspoken advocate for Detroit.
In 2008, The Detroit News [[7]] began publishing a monthly column by Roy on "Car Culture."
