Reverend Hedges

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Reverend Hedges is a character from the feature film Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

[edit] Plot in the film

In a parody of American Werewolf in London, he is hunted through the church by the monstrous rabbit, and is apparently crippled in the attack. He later supplies Victor with golden bullets.

[edit] Trivia

  • The morning after he is attacked, Hedges enters the church in a wheelchair, as if having been crippled by the rabbit. However, he later gets to his feet and boisterously shakes a few men as he describes the beast in the same scene.
  • Despite being a vicar, Hedges is depicted as an eccentric, somewhat un-Christian old man, who necessitates the murder of the Were-Rabbit, keeping golden bullets in his cupboard, cheering with the rest of the villagers when the rabbit is apparently shot, and agreeing with Mrs. Mulch when she makes it clear that she hopes that the bunny rabbits are killed in a callous manner. He also tries to bribe the Lord into making his vegetables grow bigger than everyone else's.
