From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some of this article regarding retained firefighters has been removed without consultation.
Whilst some of the alterations have done much to enhance and better the overall article some sections were removed.
The "Life as as a Retained Firefighter" section has been removed. It was designed to serve as an insight to the life of a retained firefighter for those who wised to pursue a careeer in the retained service. It also was a good point of reference to those unaware or un-informed about the retained service - in other words it was attempting to raise the profile of the retained firefighter in a pro-active way .
There were other factual bits of trivia removed from this article regarding some of the common problems firefighters face when responding to station, coupled with some common sense advice on how the public could assist firefighter getting through traffic to respond to station. Again this was designed to heighten awareness amongst the public of some of the day to day problems facing a retained firefighter.
