Return of Donkey Kong is a cancelled video game for the NES.[1] Originally announced in the Official Nintendo Player's Guide (published in 1987), the game was a sequel to the Donkey Kong arcade games.
No screenshots or videos were ever released, but the news features did let on to some interesting information: As well as playing as Mario, the player could also play as Donkey Kong in several places. There would also be many more levels than in the arcade games.
It is thought that the project may have evolved into the 1994 Game Boy version of Donkey Kong.[citation needed]
