I, GraemeL, hearby award you the Exceptional Newcomer Award for your work on Glasgow articles. Congratulations! (KC)

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. --GraemeL (talk) 23:29, 26 October 2005 (UTC)

Many thanks for the Newcomer Award - I saw loads of missing information on Glasgow and thought about adding them - major pages I've edited include Demographics and Climate in the main Glasgow page, created a Geography of Glasgow, Glasgow Festivals, and articles of the missing Glasgow Cathedral, St Lukes, plus loads of other smaller stuff. [edit] SCWNB

Hi. If you create a new (Scottish or Scotland-stuff-related) article, you may wish (entirely your option) to list it at Wikipedia:Scottish Wikipedians' notice board/New articles. I've already added some of your recent additions there. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 17:23, 27 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Sources for Glasgow Festivals

Hello, good work on Glasgow Festivals, and thanks for the contribution. However, you forgot to add any references to the article. Keeping Wikipedia accurate and verifiable is very important, and there is currently a push to encourage editors to cite the sources they used when adding content. What websites, books, or other places did you learn the information that you added to Glasgow Festivals? Would it be possible for you to mention them in the article? Thank you very much. - SimonP 06:27, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks - I'm still in the midst of creating the article Resistme 12:16, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] List of Dr. Who Films up for speedy deletion

A tag has been placed on List of Dr. Who Films, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

redundant, as information is already in other articles

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. StuartDD contributions 12:33, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] List of Dr. Who Films is now an AFD

The article List of Dr. Who Films has now been changed to an AFD - see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Dr. Who Films. Feel free to contribute. StuartDD contributions 14:00, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of List of Dr. Who Films

An editor has nominated List of Dr. Who Films, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Dr. Who Films and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:31, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Torchwood

Are you proposing to write an article "Time agent"? Because until there is one, wikilinking just produces a redlink, which does not help the reader. Also, there is too much plot about Captain Jack Hart; that section is supposed to be about him, rather than describe in detail what he does. That sort of thing should be in the episode description, and probably already is. It doesn't need saying twice. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 00:00, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

I've added a new article about the Time Agency and linking Time Agent to it.Resistme (talk) 00:05, 20 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] TfD nomination of Template:Weevils Stories

Template:Weevils Stories has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you.

[edit] Time Agency

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Time Agency, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 20:29, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

While admittedly not much is currently known about what The Time Agency does, or did, as Captain John Hart will reappear in another two espisodes of Torchwood, it is extemely likely further details of the Time Agency's purpose and aims will emerge.

I am willing to add a placemark for the future development as a stub, based on future information on a forthcoming tv series Resistme (talk) 18:18, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Glasgay! logo.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Glasgay! logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:09, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
