I made some major changes to this page starting with using the dictionary definition of a resort. It still could use more work, but I strongly believe that it is a more accurate article now. I believe that the pros and cons of an all inclusive resort should be removed since that is not something that should be in an encyclopedia and may not really be a NPOV. I also included more types of resorts that could use some filling in. I'm sure I missed others since ski resorts should probably have an entry. Vegaswikian 21:28, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

There's been a basic confusion about the very definition of "resort." The article apparently was written thinking of "resort hotel," particularly large, modern establishments that are self-contained so as to provide every facility for vacationers. But resorts are more generally PLACES, not commercial establishments. Newport, RI, for example, has never had a hotel of any consequence, but has long been a major American resort.Phmalo 00:12, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
