This theory is sort of cool, because its SO TRUE! Objects are totally against us from the time we get up in the morning. Go through your day and find every example of some insignificant object that ticks you off, then post them here!

[edit] Gordian knot link

In the section discussing the references in the Discworld novels, the word "tie" is a link to the Gordian knot article. If that was done because there was a Gordian knot reference in the book in question, and it must be linked, I think it should be stated explicitly.
