[edit] Gameplay
Resident Evil Confidential Report is markedly different from its predecessors. It uses turn-based movement and combat utilising a grid system. Like Resident Evil 2, each game features two scenarios with two different characters.
[edit] Plot
- File 1 - An explosion at an unspecified Umbrella Laboratory releases a virus turning the facility's inhabitants into zombies
- File 2 - The Raccoon Police Department receives a distress call from an old school dormitory through their hotline.
The canonicity of this game is debatable, due to the fact that it was not created by any of the development teams of the main series' games. If it is indeed canon, then it is undefined just where in the timeline this game is placed, or what, if any, links it has to other games.
[edit] Cast
- Tyler Hamilton - A rookie RPD cop, Tyler had been assigned to guard an Umbrella laboratory. After the explosion that released the virus throughout the facility trapped Tyler, he made a desperate bid to escape back to the police station. After escaping, Tyler responded to the distress call from the school dormitory and surmised that no student would have the number for the emergency hotline and sets out to investigate. It's unknown, but he may in fact be related to George Hamilton from Outbreak and its sequel, Outbreak File #2
- Naomi McClain - An FBI Agent who was outside of the police station at the time of the explosion. She had come to Raccoon City to uncover the truth of Umbrella's experiments and after the explosion, sets off into the facility to recover her missing informants. When Tyler receives the distress call from the school, Naomi intercepts it and decodes a message from an informant.
