Research!America is a not-for-profit public education and advocacy alliance based in Alexandria, Virginia, whose mission is to make research to improve health a higher national priority. Research!America was formed in 1989 with Senator Lowell P. Weicker, Jr. (R-CT) as President and CEO and Edwin C. “Jack” Whitehead as Founder and Chairman of the Board. Currently led by President and CEO Mary Woolley, Research!America is supported by more than 500 member organizations in the public and private sectors.
