[edit] Crash rescue boat
Crash rescue boats are military high-speed offshore rescue boats used to rescue pilots of crashed aircraft. In WW2 the United States Army Air Forces used 140 such 85-foot vessels, designed by Dair Long in 1944. The last of these has been restored and is owned by the AAF/USAF Crash Rescue Boat Association, a nonprofit organization with the goal to preserve it for future generations.
