[edit] Whoa, whoa, whoa
There are times when it is appropriate to use the overtly formal system like on this page and there are times when it is not appropriate. This is the latter. We don't need clerks, we don't need subpages, all we need is for people to list it and if there's no objection within X time then it gets approved. MessedRocker (talk) 13:31, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- It's formal, but it works. Nothing complex, it works like that just a bit more organised. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 21:17, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Also, the clerks are there to organise, much like all systems. Its just a list of people who can be contacted if someone needs assistance - without them, its identical, but harder to find someone who knows about the system. And the subpages is not necessary, just makes it take less room for the implented requests, so they can be archived without staying on this page. - If this is too disliked, I made a more informal process at Wikipedia:Requests for Geonotice/Informal. I can easily see it getting out of hand, though, so I would not support it. I would much prefer to simply cut some of the not-needed stuff out of here - I can't think of what though. Everything is for a reason. Matt/TheFearow (Talk) (Contribs) (Bot) 21:34, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- I prefer the informal version, myself. We should avoid red tape whenever possible. >Radiant< 08:34, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- My thought is that you should go with an informal request setup and see if it turns into a mess. Then set up a more formal process. The less process the better. kmccoy (talk) 04:05, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] For meetups, right?
Is this intended for anything other than meetup notices?--Pharos 22:34, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, if anyone can think of something else, it could be used. I can imagine "Jimbo is coming to YOUR town - meet him in person, or appeal your block!" notices, or various other things like country wikiprojects, etc. But I imagine the majority would be meetups. [edit] Please remove old notices!
Please remove the Melbourne notice. There is no info about how to get old notices removed. I would have thought they would time out?? Or please someone keep an eye on them and remove them once they pass. thanks--pfctdayelise (talk) 11:12, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Merge pages?
I don't see a good reason why this shouldn't be merged with the Wikipedia:Geonotice page.--Pharos (talk) 18:10, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
