While I appreciate the good intention behind this copy-cat'ing of my RfC for Macedonia, I note that Vergina hasn't edited in over four months. So I guess as a real "user conduct" RfC it's a bit moot. Let's just agree on deleting his user page, which is indeed not helpful to the project. Fut.Perf. ☼ 15:50, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- That would be a good start, but I'd like to follow through anyway. Otherwise we'll just have to do it again when he returns. - Francis Tyers · 16:04, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

- Also can you make that pages ? - Francis Tyers · 16:05, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

- Sure, all the pages. But I don't see why we would need to go all the way to a ban in absentia. I'm not necessarily calling for a ban of Macedonia either, actually. Let's just get the silliness deleted, get an admin consensus in place that these guys are not to have political userpages (license to kill on sight if they re-create any), and then watch if they loose interest. If they return to editing in the main space, judge their behaviour on its merits. Fut.Perf. ☼ 16:26, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. - Francis Tyers · 16:29, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- By the way, was Vergina's username really an issue? Or did you just copy that from the other RfC blindly? Fut.Perf. ☼ 16:27, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- I would imagine for certain sections of the Macedonian nationalist community his username would be an issue... which is why I left it in. I thought about it for a while, but I think that it causes more problems than it solves. - Francis Tyers · 16:29, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
- The name "Vergina" is undisputably a Greek city and undisputably refers to a Greek symbol (found in that Greek city) which is related to the region of Macedonia (Greece) officially through the regional flag and also registered in WIPO. That city and this symbol are not shared between other ethnic groups, unless if it's done unlawfully (unlike the name "Macedonia"). The fact that this name has been (ab)used and appropriated by non-eligible groups which have been criticized negatively by the entire rest of the planet for doing so, does not mean we are going to deprive the capability for a user to identify in WP as his home-city or his favorite official regional symbol (neither a violation nor a precedent in WP:U). Those who do have a problem with this (i.e. according to Francis the "certain sections of the Macedonian nationalist community"), are those who should be brought forward for inflammatory behavior. Not the other way around.

- Aside from that (and that alone), I hereby confirm my joint attempt with the community of WP:MWNB and Francis to tone down his userpage, which indeed happenned. I remember we were both trying to figure out what was annoying in his page after himself had deleted lots of it, and Francis went on to delete some of his worst subpages (symbolically? -I can't see them). I was disappointed to see that he readded some parts that may seem annoying (among others which were not). The edit-warring is sparse and quite limited in his whole contribs link provided by Francis (I can't seriously search it all, but he doesn't seem to violate 3RR at least). The problem IMO is that the user really doesn't know better! Also, it is evident that his/her level of English is low and therefore cannot comprehend policy. Apparently he's gone for now, so I agree with Fut.Perf. in all (with the addition of my first paragraph —in the strongest possible way that can be emphasized).
