Oppose punishment: I believe Chan recreated pages after trying to satisfy the criticisms which lead to the original 'delete' votes, and after reading Wikipedia:Your_first_article#And_be_careful_about... . As such, although they may be unacceptable, they are good faith contributions and the user responsible should not be punished for them. Also I believe that Chan has ceased various kinds of misguided or inapproriate behavior after requests from the community. For example insulting language is unacceptable, but he has been warned and I don't believe he uses it any more. Kappa 18:08, 30 Dec 2004 (UTC)
- The user had taken part in the VfD discussions previously and vociferously argued that his local everything was worthy because, for example, the Washington Mall had an entry. In those discussions, he did not seem to glean anything, except that it was apparent in the hospital article that it was written from the POV of someone who worked there. Upon re-VfD of that article, he said that it was now written from the point of view of patients. He used insulting language as recently as New Year's Eve, and he put himself up for adminship twice. The user either so fundamentally misunderstands policies and procedures as to be incapable of becoming a worthwhile contributor or is hostile to the project and knowingly seeks to disrupt it solely to address his private beefs.
