Why is Alastor Moody not responding to this RFC? This isn't something to take lightly. Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 01:29, 19 September 2006 (UTC)

Alastor received a note from another user (Cordesat) on his userpage today advising him to post a response, and replied to that user inquiring as to the procedure for doing so, so hopefully a response will now be forthcoming. If he doesn't post something in a couple of days, I'll remind him again.
Alastor may also be a bit intimidated by the RfC process given his inexperience with it and, although I hesitate to mention it, his age. According to his userpage, and as most of you probably have seen, he's self-described as 12 years old. That doesn't exempt him from criticism by any means, of course. The general rule is that younger Wikipedians join the fray and take their lumps with the rest of us; that's a sound principle, and I don't think the users would want it any other way. And Alastor's editing history clearly raises some issues that need to be resolved, which is something I hope the RfC will bring to his attention since the userpage warnings haven't. I can imagine that some Project Hurricanes editors must be entirely exasperated with him by now. On the other hand, I hope everyone will be continue to be sensitive, as has been the case to this point, and avoid a pile-on here. If the goal is to drastically improve this editor's editing, a straightforward explanation of what he needs to be doing differently (without a lot of acronyms, etc.) would probably be the best course. Whilst I find it regrettable that Alastor chose not to participate in this RfC and had he done so it would have given him plenty of feedback on how to change, I can't deny that his editing has much improved lately in particular he has become more civil and his signature has also been improved. I hope fear of this RfC wasn't the reason for these changes, but in any case the circumstances which led to this page are no longer applicable in my view.--Nilfanion (talk) 18:12, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
