I believe a RfC is premature. This seems to be a new user, who clearly doesn't have a registered account, and who may not even know about talk pages or stuff like that. I'd say, if the abusive, uncivil language continues, we should simply block the user for 24 hours. Dealing with abusive anonymous users is a very common event dealt with by admins on a daily basis. RfC doesn't seem to be the appropriate forum for that. Users can be blocked for violating WP:CIVIL, so if the user continues after a final warning, simply ask an admin to block. -Andrew c [talk] 20:38, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

The edits themselves didn't violate policy. Just the edit summaries. (See my comment on this RfC page.) I don't think a block will be necessary. JBFrenchhorn (talk) 20:44, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

I agree that now, and retroactively, a block would not be appropriate. I'm just saying, if the violations of WP:CIVIL continues, the user should be warned up through the various levels, given a final warning, and if it still continues, then a block could be given. But we are not at that point (nor do I think we are at the point of RfC either, ;P. -Andrew c [talk] 21:39, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
