[edit] Mentorship
Kirill, have you considered a shorter ban and then maybe mentorship as a possibility? Picaroon (t) 01:32, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Considered it, yes; but, given the user's recalcitrance and his unwillingness to work in sandboxes, I don't think that'll be a good use of more productive editors' time. Kirill 02:26, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- Kirill, as an illustration of this point, despite everything, I've been still willing to help Stefano. After he complained of lack of help in draft of one article, I responded with this, offering suggestions of how the article needs to be improved, specifically with regards to poor referencing. I think I thoroughly, politely and clearly explained what was needed, why it was needed and even gave examples of how a properly ref'ed page should look. Here was yet another opportunity where he could have developed a mentoring relationship. And here is his long, rambling reply, the most congent part is his item 2, where he clearly doesn't get it, and isn't willing to get it. Regardless of the outcome of the ArbCom decision, my patience for trying to help this user has worn thin, and I'm pretty much retracting my offers for future help. - I support Akradecki's opinion. Looking to stefanomencarelli's Wikipedia history on both it.wiki and en.wiki, it seems he is desperately struggling to succeed in being considered an aviation/naval "guru" (like here where he self-define himself "i am notoriously a sort of living book"). The status he looks for seems apparently in his mind incompatible with accepting suggestions or corrections on his posts he consequently considers attacks and angrily reacts against.--EH101 00:20, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
