Wikipedia talk:Requests for arbitration/Cantus 3/Proposed decision

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hi there! Sorry to bump in here, but I read over the following proposal, "All prior remedies which are not limited to a one year term are limited to a term of one year." and was wondering if that can be anything else than a paradox? Radiant_>|< 08:14, July 13, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Not nearly far enough

I would like to object to the somewhat tame response from the Arbitrators on this case. The remedies do not go far enough because they do not make enough difference.

Cantus banned from certain articles 2) User:Cantus is banned from editing the articles Developed country, Template:Europe and Terri Schiavo
This misses the point entirely. Frankly, these were examples of just a few of his long-term edit wars. I've added more examples to the evidence to show this, and if I need to go into more detail I will. Cantus is a persistent edit warrior on any page he works on, articles and templates alike. Please come up with something that we can use to stop these and all future wars. I don't know how best to phrase this, but I'd like to make "re-reverting" go away and force him to at least make an effrot to get agreement on talk pages.
Sockpuppets 1.1) Should User:Cantus use a verifiable sockpuppet to edit articles from which he is banned he may be banned from Wikipedia for one month.
Please change this to "... from which he is banned , to evade any block, or to evade any other editing restrictions he may be banned from Wikipedia for up to one month." Most of his sock puppet use comes when he is blocked and also when he wants to revert, but wants to avoid being blocked under his one-revert-per-day restriction.
Cantus 2 3) Cantus is limited to one revert per article per 24 hour period. Should he violate this, an admin may ban him for a short period of time (up to a week).
This is the text from a previous case. Minimally, to avoid confusion and to reflect the fact that he revert wars on templates and other pages, please make this revert restriction apply to any page.

For continued disruption, edit warring, and especially block evasion and sockpuppetry, I'd also like to see if any hard-bans could also be considered. Thanks for looking into this. -- Netoholic @ 13:47, 15 July 2005 (UTC)

Even while this case open, Cantus continues this behavior. He is currently on a 3-day block from Talrias, yet is employing Дмитрий (talk · contribs) & まみぶ (talk · contribs) to continue reverting and working. -- Netoholic @ 06:15, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
