Wikipedia talk:Requests for adminship/HolyRomanEmperor 4

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

What we are experiencing here is a deja vu from the previous nomination - ethnic based/controversal votes are piling up again, and most likely, will end up just as the last time. I do not want to pass through those controversies ever again. Remembers me of the last time that people were being invited across chanels and other wikipedias. This probably means that I will never become an admin because of the place where I live (and probably some other things), however, I do not want to blacked wikipedia's reputation by attractng these ethnic based/vandal/POV votes again (I wouldn't forgive myself) - so I will drop it and that's final (in case someone wanted to talk me out of it ;). --HolyRomanEmperor 11:35, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A Sad Anouncement

I have very grave news over here - I am User;HolyRomanEmpire's (or shorter HRE's) cousin (brother by aunt). There has been a car accident - and sadly, the user has... passed away several hours ago. This Encyclopedia has recently occupied the vast majority of his (free) time, and it meant a lot to him - I am here according to his (and mine) brother's wish to announce his passing away, so that he will be remembered here - if not for his minimal achievements in the real world.

It's very sad for me to say these - even if new him personally very little. I'm here to tell it to some of those who new him the best (he gave me the list). --Sad News 20:22, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Please accept my sincerest condolences and my deepest apologies for a horrible question that I have to ask: is there any way to confirm this? RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:07, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, it's either a hacker, or it's for real. Wow... RadioKirk (u|t|c) 21:14, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Well - please close it. --Sad News 21:39, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't think we should close it just yet. — The King of Kings 21:47 July 03 '06
Please. Do you think that we are all so naive? Give me a break. I don't belive you, my friend. Especially because I had a kind of sneaky experience with HRE. Can we check this user for sock puppet? I understand that accidents happen, but this story?! He gave you the list of cyber friends [1]. For God's sake don't make mockery of death. --Emir Arven 22:46, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Mind WP:CIVIL and assume good faith. — The King of Kings 22:49 July 03 '06
OK, thanks that you reminded me. Regards.--Emir Arven 22:51, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

I suggest continuing discussion on RfA talk. Then we will all be in the same place at the same time. Tyrenius 22:57, 3 July 2006 (UTC)

Question: While I'm assuming good faith on the part of Sad News and am upset to think that this happened, if (as others have brought up on IRC) this ends up being a hoax of some sort, how is the RfA going to be handled? ~Kylu (u|t) 03:05, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

HRE dead? Yeah, wright. I don't believe in that story. Either someone hacked HRE's account (these things happen, only this time the joke seems very sick), or this way the original writer "killed" the HRE-character in Wikipedia-movie, and soon we'll have "new user in Wikipedia-movie" that'll work on the very same subjects as HRE, and soon the "new user" will be nominated for adminship. Kubura 12:43, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Usually me and HRE talked on the daily basis, but somehow his "visits" became more rare. Especially what makes me wondering is... that his "death" happened after I've given with quality sources that contribute to my argumentation. Normally he would respond very quickly. His latest messages were...how to say...a little strange, they didn't look like his "handwriting", if you understand me. So, either someone reached his account (sysops and admins, see if there was a password change to HRE's account), or HRE planned his "death" on Wiki as HRE. Kubura 12:43, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Few more things. Interesting, nobody asked if there were sockpuppets that voted for/supported HRE, or nominated HRE periodically for adminship? Kubura 12:43, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Just a reminder to Kubura: the (extensive) discussion is going on at RfA talk, not here. --Zmaj 13:11, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stopping the RfA

Given the circumstances, this RfA is stopped until the matter can be clarified further and conclusively. I will assume that the HRE or his family are watching this page, and hope that someone contacts me directly to clarify this matter. I can be reached at dwool AT wikimedia DOT org. Thank you and best wishes. Danny 03:19, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Requesting permission to remove the "The following discussion is preserved as an archive of a request for adminship that did not succeed. Please do not modify it."-- it hadn't passed or failed yet. Ashibaka tock 04:02, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
I'd just edit it to "...request for adminship." We don't need to say that this didn't succeed, but it is closed. Xoloz 04:16, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
there is already a note on there that it might not be permanent. just leave it until a fianl decision is made pschemp | talk 04:32, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
dungodung on IRC just directed me to this link; [[2]] which appears to be HRE editting on SR:WIKI. Someone said it was him saying he can't believe what's happening on en. Someone investigate? I can't speak the language. ShaunES 14:10, 4 July 2006 (UTC).
Full translation of the message can be found where the main discusion is, here. --Dijxtra 14:42, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

CORRECT! I confirm it.--TheFEARgod 14:21, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

So, is this RfA officially closed? --Siva1979Talk to me 04:46, 13 August 2006 (UTC)
