[edit] Question

Should we just strike out when a something is updated, or remove altogether the name? --Djanvk 8 July 2005 19:06 (UTC)

Remove surely, or there will be thousands of stuck out items eventually, which will be no use to anyone. Anyway, that is what is being done. Honbicot 21:29, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
I'm striking them through for now, just so that the article gets at least one more view from someone who can check to see whether I've completely missed the point. If you see something already struck, delete it, I'd say.Sojourner001 22:37, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Chess

I couldn't find a section for this sport. Could someone make one?

  • I believe chess is a hobby not a sport.

Maddiekate 05:05, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

    • Nonetheless, it is widely reported as a sport. B.Wind (talk) 03:22, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bowling

Wikipedia is so widely comprehensive that the scarcity of bowling professionals and concepts stand out all the more. Could some of you editors add some? Thanks! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by John11235813 (talk • contribs) 05:10, 27 January 2006(UTC).

we'll do our best, but you could help too if you know something about bowling.--Alhutch 05:30, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestion

How come the names of current major league baseball players are not arranged by teams? I feel that by knowing the team, that'll make obtaining information more easier for those who wish to crate those articles. OsFan 18:32, 29 March 2006 (UTC)

I guess it's because if a person knows the player's name but not the team, it would be extremely frustating to track down the player's entry. 147.70.242.39 23:08, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

  • I have some pictures of Krisztián Berki - Hungarian Gymnast (speciality: pommel horse), Medallist, born in 18/MAR/1985. If it would be needed for illustrating a potential article about him. (Vituss 01:51, 1 October 2006 (UTC))
Well if you know the team, they why not just start the article--Coasttocoast 01:52, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bibhuti Bhushan Nayak

I noticed this request in the gymnastics section. I don't think it belongs there? The accompanying article says the guy is a serial Guiness Book of Records competitor, he does push-ups on his fingertips and is a martial arts instructor. Mademoiselle Sabina 09:01, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

I think, it belongs to the "Misc" section of the page, and "The Urban Ninjaz" :) probably belong to the "Ninjitsu" subsection of the "Martial Arts" section. Cmapm 15:01, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
True, it is more accurate to put this in the "Misc" section of the page. --Siva1979Talk to me 15:34, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alphabetize lists of names

Right now there seems to be no consensus on whether names should be alphabetized by first name or by last name. Last name, of course, if the convention but the items are listed in the form "First Last" rather than "Last, First M.", making organization by last name confusing. Lists organized by last name often give the appearance of being totally unsorted, causing new additions to be added randomly or towards the end. Furthermore, a case could be made for organizing by first name, as this is identical to organizing by article name where first/last distinctions are irrelevant. To complicate matters, we could institute a system of "Last, First M." listing pointing to as-yet-non-existent articles of the conventional form "First Last" using Piped links. [edit] List of Career Accomplishments

Under which heading would you request articles that list outstanding athletes career accomplishments? There are several already such as Wilt Chamberlain, Gary Gait, Wayne Gretzky, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Jack Nicklaus, Dirk Nowitzki, Tiger Woods, and Vince Young. There are many other athletes who have also had tremendous success in their respective sport and should also have articles similar to these such as Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Martin Brodeur, Peyton Manning, LaDainian Tomlinson, Michael Schumacher, Jeff Gordon, Richard Petty, Pete Sampras, Jerry Rice, Bjorn Borg, Pélé, and Roger Clemens. Many other older athletes could should also have articles like these such as Bobby Orr, Hank Aaron, Ted Williams, Sandy Koufax, Pete Rose, Ty Cobb, Cy Young, Warren Spahn, and A.J. Foyt. Also, I think that List of tournament performances by Tiger Woods and List of career achievements by Tiger Woods should be merged and Records held by Roger Federer and Awards won by Roger Federer should be merged into a new article called List of career achievements by Roger Federer just to follow the same procedure as the other articles. [edit] tallest athletes

there should be an article called List of Athletes who are the tallest of their sport or something like that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.39.204.249 (talk) 20:41, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Bungee Trampoline

Ok, I've been looking for how to request an article for Wikipedia for the past 15min and can't find the proper place! Anyway, I would like to request an article on Bungee Trampoline. It's basically a harness supported by two poles using bungee cords on a trampoline http://www.allproducts.com/manufacture98/bungee4in1/product2.html I've heard it's a sport, and you can find them at amusement parks, but not much else. Thanks.
