[edit] Articles involved
- Sri Lankan Civil War (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)
- List of terrorist incidents (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)1
- Terrorist attacks attributed to the LTTE (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs)1
- 1 Possibly; the discussion has only been about the first article mentioned, however it has to be determined whether the outcome of the ensuing mediation will be relevant for the two other articles using the picture in question as well.
[edit] Other steps in dispute resolution that have been attempted:
- Did a lot of discussing on the talk page (initiated by different users), here, here, here and here.
- Taken admin Khoikhoi on board to suggest a solution (see here).
- Did an internal poll here.
[edit] Issues to be mediated
- Should this picture be shown in the article(s).
[edit] Additional issues to be mediated
None listed at present. 01:48, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Parties' agreement to mediate
- All parties should sign below, indicating that they agree to mediate the issue. If any party fails to sign, or if a party indicates they do not agree, then the mediation will be rejected. Only signatures and "agree" or "disagree" should appear here; any comments will be removed.

[edit] Parties' agreement to WJBscribe's offer
WJBscribe (talk • contribs • blocks • protects • deletions • moves • rights), an experienced administrator and user who has plentiful dispute resolution experience, has agreed to take this case after an offer was extended to him by myself, a member of the Committee. However, as WJBscribe is not a member of the Committee at present (although he has a nomination pending at present, which has my unreserved support due to his vast experience and proven ability), it is a generally accepted practice that the parties must consent to a non-Committee member mediating a RfM.
As such, can I ask that all parties to the mediation please list whether they "agree" or "disagree" to WJBscribe mediating below, in much the same format as the initial agreement above. Voting will last seven days, from May 12.
I apologise for the delay in action on this case. Due to absences by a number of the members of the Committee, there has been a backlog. Please note that if consent isn't given by all parties above within seven days, then you will have to wait for a Committee mediator, which could take a fair while at the present rate. On all accounts, I encourage you to take WJBscribe's offer, however the choice is, of course, yours.
