[edit] Fact verification (talk · contribs)
Implies the user is an official figure on Wikipedia. Experienced editors know there is no official "fact verification" function, but I'm more concerned with the effect this username may have on newbies. RJASE1 Talk 13:06, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Disallow, implies an official position. Deiz talk 13:11, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Allow, I'd counsel the assumption of good faith and a touch of vigilance. If the user ever operates in a fashion that actually suggests that he's trying to impersonate an official function, then zap 'em, but until then... The fact that this isn't an actual position at Wikipedia is relevant. - CHAIRBOY (☎) 13:13, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Allow per Chairboy. I don't think users will assume an official position; they certainly shouldn't if they are experienced users. Sam Blacketer 13:21, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Allow This is not an official position and I think it's unlikely that anyone will think it is. However, if the user starts to act in a way that implies an official position, this should be brought up again. G Donato (talk to me...) 13:36, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Allow. First, it isn't in the form of a title; secondly, one would have to be mentally subnormal to think that the user was an official on the basis of this, even if it were "Fact verifier". --Mel Etitis (Talk) 13:37, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
- Allow. It kind of sounds official, I guess, but anyone who's been on Wikipedia for a day or so will know he's no authority figure, just a user with a clever name. Coemgenus 14:12, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
