Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Alastor Moody
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In order to remain listed at Wikipedia:Requests for comment, at least two people need to show that they tried to resolve a dispute with this user and have failed. This must involve the same dispute with a single user, not different disputes or multiple users. The persons complaining must provide evidence of their efforts, and each of them must certify it by signing this page with ~~~~. If this does not happen within 48 hours of the creation of this dispute page (which was: 20:00, 16 September 2006 (UTC)), the page will be deleted. The current date and time is: 19:43, 11 June 2008 (UTC).

[edit] Statement of the dispute
This is a summary written by users who dispute this user's conduct. Users signing other sections ("Response" or "Outside views") should not edit the "Statement of the dispute" section.
[edit] Description
User has a history of useless and/or irrelevant edits to talk pages (particularly on WikiProject Tropical cyclones), in violation of WP:NOT (a chat room). The user also has an extremely long signature that violates WP:SIG, and asking him civilly to shorten his sig results in backlash. This editor also has a history of ignoring warnings, as shown below in the evidence section.
[edit] Evidence of disputed behavior
(Provide diffs. Links to entire articles aren't helpful unless the editor created the entire article. Edit histories also aren't helpful as they change as new edits are performed.)
[edit] Applicable policies and guidelines
{list the policies and guidelines that apply to the disputed conduct}
[edit] Evidence of trying and failing to resolve the dispute
(provide diffs and links)
[edit] Users certifying the basis for this dispute

[edit] Other users who endorse this summary
- I've known Alastor Moody for the whole time he's been at Wikipedia (including back when he was known as User:Mr. Parks), and I can attest this summary is correct. The majority of Alastor's edits were reverted, ignored, or responded unfavorably. Of his 13 uploaded images, only one links to an actual article, and that one doesn't even have proper copyright status. In addition, he considered comments from another user as hate mail, and generally makes inappropriate and juvenile comments on talk pages, and these are only in the last 11 days.
