This is a complicated one. However, this mainly boils down to this. Z.E.R.O. has a history of warning users with no real justification and made edits along the veins of "you will be blocked if" a contributor did something more, which might not always be an appropriate reason for blocking (c.f. this WP:ANI report).
Then, in this dispute, this IP appears from seemingly nowhere and does what Z.E.R.O. has done before. Normally, this would not be a problem, but it's a really random dispute to enter, and furthermore the person the IP is backing up has a history of this. Further, this is something serious we're talking about - blocking good users. Therefore I believe that a checkuser is justified.

Declined. I agree that the behavior of the IP is abusive, but it isn't serious enough to warrant this kind of check. Sorry. Mackensen (talk) 00:40, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
