[edit] V-Dash II

DeathMark just, out of the blue, showed up on Wikipedia:Requests for comment/V-Dash and supported V-Dash's response there. His contributions show that he's, once again, edit-warring over a Nintendo game (Advance Wars: Days of Ruin) claiming that Nintendo's word trumps talk-page established consensus. -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 00:49, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Confirmed Thatcher 03:32, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
  • Not to mean any disrespect, but I disagree here. V-Dash is the sockpuppeteer. In Mantlefish's case, I wasn't sure if it was V-Dash or his impersonator behind the account. -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 03:53, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
    • Maybe Thatcher has some bit of inside information as a checkuser upon which he is basis his request for assistance? --Iamunknown 20:27, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
Just read RFCU/Mantlefish. He was a confirmed sock of V-Dash (or the other way around). So they should be on the same page for future convenience. Thatcher 17:15, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Hate to add more work, but Axzeuz (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser) just showed up on the talk pages of Advance Wars: Days of Ruin and Sonic Rush Adventure arguing over the games' genre again. As normal, he's not indenting his arguments and stating that the game's type should be what the creating company says it is, rather than what consensus says (the issues have been minor changes in genre, i.e. Turn-Based Strategy vs. Turn-Based Tactics). Could we get an IP ban from this? -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 19:40, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

Confirmed Thatcher 17:19, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Four more: Ceske Jouriano (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser), Kesce Jouriano (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser), RZone0 (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser), and GhostMask (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser). Acting the same way; now attacking me (I had the most contact with V-Dash and blocked the last two socks). Could we get an IP block for this? -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 22:47, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Confirmed - needless to say. I've done my best here, but these are from disparate IPs, so it's hard to block them in one go - Alison 00:12, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 00:15, 9 February 2008 (UTC)
Two more: Jéské couriano!! (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser)[sic] and Ceske Couriano1 (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser). -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 07:39, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
And another...SmarterThanJeske (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser)Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 04:35, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
Add EskeFouriano (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser) to the list. MelicansMatkin (talk) 01:21, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Toss in VeryCleanBox (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser), too--Calton | Talk 04:44, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Note: - not much to do here, guys - all different IPs. - Alison 01:44, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Damn it. Is there at least a common range? -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 01:49, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Christ, is he running around between neighbors or something? (Well, I guess there are ways to mess with IPs.)—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 04:44, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
Speaking of IPs, 74.202.131.118‎ (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser) has suddenly decided to go to each one of V-Dash's sockpuppet accounts and change the sockpuppetry message from "this account is a sockpuppet of V-Dash" to "this account is a sockpuppet of Jéské Couriano". MelicansMatkin (talk) 05:08, 16 February 2008 (UTC)
Even if it was V-Dash, unless the IP does something much worse, CUs could not tell us. -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 08:46, 16 February 2008 (UTC)

[un-indent] MatthewCouriano (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser).—Loveはドコ? (talkcontribs) 01:30, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

Don't bother, Uru. A new obvious sock shows up, send him to AI/V. Checkuser can't do anything here. -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 06:55, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Mantlefish

This user, seconds after creation, headed straight to User talk:V-Dash and left a comment there and at the related AN/I thread, asking that both V-Dash and I be blocked. I'm thinking that this user is a sockpuppet of either Dash Jr (aka PolluxFrost) to harass V-Dash or a sock of V-Dash himself to claim I'm baiting him. -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 22:57, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed relation to V-Dash. Unrelated to Dash Jr. --Deskana (talk) 01:01, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] V-Dash

Last week I blocked V-Dash for edit-warring over what type of game Pokémon Diamond & Pearl was. Now DOTEmerzon shows up and makes the same arguments V-Dash does, and he's editing the same articles V-Dash is. I think he's evading his block, but want to make sure. -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 22:28, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Please provide diffs that support your accusation, such as similar behaviour from the same accounts. --Deskana (talk) 12:04, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
The arguments V-Dash made ([1], [2]) are being supported without reason (just a straight "V-Dash is right", nothing else) by DOTEmerzon ([3]). Further, V-Dash's contribution history was solely to video game articles and their talk pages, in particular D&P and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass; DOTEmerzon's edits have been only to the same.
As a side note, I blocked DOT relying on the duck test; I need to know if that block was in error and if there are any more sleepers. -Jéské (Blah v^_^v) 21:00, 16 November 2007 (UTC)

I just added User:Kwnawm. V-Dash edit 1 Kwnawm edit 1 V-Dash edit 2 Kwnawm edit 2 -- The Placebo Effect (talk) 17:26, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Results

Possible that these are the same user:

Inconclusive whether related to the other 2 or not:

I agree about the edit warring, and that the edit patterns correlate, if bad behaviour is ongoing, block on behaviour. It would not surprise me to learn these are friends of each other in real life. ++Lar: t/c 21:24, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
