See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Gnostic Movement; it has been flooded with delete votes by brand new accounts.
- Established editors pushing hard for deletion: 999 and SynergeticMaggot
- They've worked together on some other AfDs
- New with just a few edits: Viewmaster, Clean2 and Percevalles
- Brand new editors when they voted: Ordet, VanessaJ, Jaspers, Lemurien, Obianca, Osto, Jacki123, JustinMN, Blacker10, Martius12 , PJohn123, ChetWesley, Dgard000369, Billson34, CeJay, Green Hornet
- Most of new voters likely puppets of either 999 or SynergeticMaggot
- I can't figure out which editor is the puppeteer.
Two related AfDs (I don't think either involved sockpuppets):
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Gnostic Movement Incorporated
- Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sexual transmutation
"Delete" comment from 205.157.110.11 on one of these other AfDs sounded like something 999 or SynergeticMaggot would say.
999 or SynergeticMaggot nominate multiple articles for deletion every month, some controversial. If one is abusing now the process, it will likely recur with future AfDs. --A. B. 03:55, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Update on users' edit patterns since time of first request:
- User:Obianca, User:Jaspers, User:VanessaJ, User:Ordet, User:Jacki123, User:Blacker10, User:Martius12, User:PJohn123, User:ChetWesley, User:Dgard000369, User:Billson34, User:CeJay, User:Green Hornet have made no edits before or since the AfD. I originally mischacterized User:Osto -- he had made one edit to the article itself -- several days before the 19 July sockpuppet assault on the AfD
- User:Lemurien also edited his user page identifying self by a name in the real world and listing a web site for his ISP. User:Percevalles, User:JustinMN have made several edits since then. User:Clean2 and User:Viewmaster have made none.
- I should also specify that while I think SynergeticMaggot or 999 is the puppetmaster, I don't mean to say they're both guilty. One of them probably is a puppeteer; the other one probably isn't. --A. B. 19:43, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
Note: There's obviously a problem here, but I think what you're up against is orchestrated meatpuppetry. There are a couple sockpuppets up there, but since they're all one-off accounts, it really isn't a big deal (not yet, anyway). I was unable to identify a sockmaster. The situation is very complicated. There are two centers of editing: eastern Canada and Australia. Make of that what you will. This isn't a rejection; rather, I'm not sure that there's much to be done about it. If the closing admin at the *fD is sensible things will go as they should. Specific queries might be easier to run down. Best, Mackensen (talk) 02:35, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Clerk note: Per this clarification [1], there is no evidence linking SynergeticMaggot or 999 to this situation. Thatcher131 (talk) 20:11, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
