[edit] StealBoy

User has a strong pattern of adding articles on fake movies and TV shows, many of which appear to be using a common template or copied from existing articles. User has been doing this since at least 2007, if not earlier; most recently about half an hour ago: User:Earrrrr555567 created Monty Python Presents: The Jungle Book. Most suspected socks are listed on Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of StealBoy.. nneonneo talk 23:46, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] StealBoy

  • Code letter: C

These are quite likely sockpuppets of a single user with a clearly problematic pattern of vandalism. All of these accounts were used mostly to create hoax articles which look real enough to escape the attention of new page patrollers. These include FiFi (TV Series), Crystals (film), Meteorite Boy, The Koalo, My Friend is a Koala (TV Series), Meet The Robin, The Racing Pig, Honey, I Shrunk All-a-Thems, The War of the Worlds (1951 film), The Chronicles of The Treasure Island (and believe me the list goes on and on). There isn't much need of a checkuser to confirm that these accounts are sockpuppets as the editing pattern is quite identifiable (see an early sockpuppeting case Wikipedia:Suspected sock puppets/StealBoy) but I'm hoping that it will allow us to

  1. identify other sock accounts which have yet to be blocked and in the process identify other hoax articles still floating out there.
  2. possibly allow the identification of a single IP (or IP range) which could be blocked long term to avoid the persistent recreation of new sock accounts.

Isn't it about time the ISP was contacted to put a stop to this idiocy?--Drat (Talk) 10:47, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
