[edit] Statusquorn

This is something of an odd case, and I'm not sure if a checkuser can help, but I figure it might be worth a try. As reported on AN/I, a recent b3ta newsletter features someone claiming to have used multiple accounts to commit subtle image vandalism, uploading modified versions of existing images (with some variant of this image inserted) under a slightly different title and then sneaking them into articles in the guise of vandalism reverts. They claim to have done this to "nearly 200 different photos", but have revealed only one (this -> this).

The IP above, which I'm all but certain is the same as Statusquorn, is a proxy server of a fairly large ISP in the UK, so on its own it's likely to be fairly useless for catching socks (although there might be something more useful in XFF). However, I'm wondering if any CheckUsers might be able and have the time to review the image upload history of users from this and related IPs and see if anything suspicious turns up.

Thanks in advance. —Ilmari Karonen (talk) 21:30, 13 October 2007 (UTC)

Stale on Statusquorn (talk · contribs). There are so many users on that IP that I can't possibly check every one. --Deskana (talk) 08:26, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
