[edit] Marcus2

Marcus2 is pretty vocal about a certain silly topic, the popularity of the Power Puff Girls. His viewpoint, the only one which he will accept, is that the show is simply unpopular, and any references or evidence to suggest otherwise is summarily removed with little or no discussion.

There is a SSP case open for Marcus2 and the two above IP addresses at Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets/Marcus2, but I am requesting CU. The IP users also show a certain level of understanding various WP policies, for instance, opening a topic at the reliable sources forum, Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Noticeboard#The_Powerpuff_Girls, basically making the statement that Marcus2 is correct, and no matter the consensus, the material is invalid, with no proof or argument of invalidity, other than the "I said so" type.

Whois confirms that the two IP addresses are from Frontier Communications of America, Inc., in Poughkeepsie, NY, which is the same geographical location as Marcus2. Yngvarr 11:19, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

I'm not usually comfortable sharing private information about myself online, but I'm from Poughkeepsie, New York. 70.101.182.149 (talk) 15:23, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm not asking you to disclose personal or private information. The point I was making is that the IP addresses trace to an ISP in Poughkeepsie, and Marcus2 is also (self-proclaimed) from that area. A little less than 20 miles apart, well within range of a singular ISP. IP addresses are easily traced, that's just a matter of the protocols, there's no privacy disclosure involved. Now I understand you. I didn't join Wikipedia until last year, so there are some things on Wikipedia that I still don't get. I was just trying to prove to others that me and Marcus are two different people living in separate areas. However, I should note that I am the same person as 70.101.160.105. This old IP was lost for some reason, and now I have this new one. 70.101.182.149 (talk) 15:52, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
I'm going to continue this conversation on your talk page, as this is not appropriate. Yngvarr 16:03, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Confirmed - Direct hit to both IPs. Marcus is the only inhabitant of either IP. Blnguyen (bananabucket) 07:54, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Where did this new "proof" come from? 70.101.182.149 (talk) 21:00, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
