[edit] Maleabroad (3rd request)

  • Code letter: C, F

Reasons:

  • Similar pattern of contributions on a multitude of pages with POV pushing (including creation of new POV fork article Hindu (Culture), deleted after AFD), similar edit summaries (accusing other editors of jealousy [1], saying that there is no consensus for reversion [2] etc)
  • Some of the socks have uploaded images such as [3] and these (which incidentally are copyvios with incorrect tags), which are then added to articles by other socks.
  • User:Redtigerxyz1 has taken a name deceptively similar to User:Redtigerxyz (a editor in good standing) and then edited the same article Ganesha beyond Hinduism.
  • Further discussions on these incidents can be found here, here, here, here, here and here.
  • There are many other suspected socks of User:Maleabroad listed in this category and many of them are unblocked; it will be useful if CU could ferret out more and some admin could block them. Abecedare 17:11, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Further evidence: Algorithm1 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log) recreated article Hindu (Culture) that was a product of three other socks of Maleabroad, and was deleded after an AFD discussion. Abecedare 17:37, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Unnecessary. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 20:48, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Jpgordon, can you please clarify if "Unnecessary" means that the above listed accounts can be treated as confirmed socks of Melabroad based on the presented evidence and hence blocked. I ask because, User:Randomatom001 has been disputing (or rather demanding evidence that he is a sock :-) ) and I wanted to be certain myself, before responding and requesting a block. Thanks. Abecedare 21:41, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
It's unnecessary because you've provided enough information to demonstrate that they're socks without checkuser helping. But since you asked, I ran the full thing, and every one of them (with the exception of Omkar Y) are on the same college network. --jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 21:54, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks Josh. I'll try to keep Maleabroad requests to a minimum, although I dare say his socks will be with us for a long time, especially since range block of college IPs is infeasible. Regards. Abecedare 22:18, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Maleabroad (2nd request)

  • Code letter: F

Reasons:

  1. User account was created after previous sockpuppets of User:Maleabroad were blocked.
  2. User's edit summaries are very similar to those used by Maleabroad and puppets (eg [4]).
  3. User edits same topics as Maleabroad (although this is a bit of a stretch - it's a broad range).
  4. User account name follows pattern of previous sock puppet accounts by Maleabroad (TypeEditor1, Flourescent1, Draft1, Spectral01 for example).

Maleabroad was blocked by consensus for POV-pushing, edit warring, sock puppetry and so on (see [5]), hence the code letter F. Orpheus 08:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Additional info: Primary (Maleabroad) account hasn't been used for a while. Most recent one was Lineroad (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser) (already blocked).

[edit] Maleabroad

Please compare edit summaries. User:Reversionist also recreated article Brahmin Contributions to Other Religions that User:Maleabroad (and hos sockpuppets, such as User:HinduDefender) edited/created under various names. See also Gautama_the_Hindu Abecedare 00:54, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Comment - When editing from IP addresses, this user always comes from the 136.159 subnet. Orpheus 01:35, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
He is back and has recreated the oft-deleted article Brahmin Contributions to Other Religions, with politer-than-usual edit-summary "re-created article from attacks by jealous vandals :)" Abecedare 00:08, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Likely. Also perhaps
  1. Benevolent56 (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser)
  2. Geomatician (talk contribs logs block user block log checkuser)

--jpgordon∇∆∇∆ 01:38, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Further comment - here are a couple of relevant diffs. [6], [7], [8]. Orpheus 01:41, 17 February 2007 (UTC)
