More silliness on Joseph Stalin and talk page. Possibly Jakey again. Moreschi (talk) (debate) 22:24, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Checkuser is a last resort for difficult cases. Whenever possible, use other methods first.
- That's some compelling evidence you've rounded up there. An editor with a similar point of view as some other editor from two years ago (on one single controversial issue). Clearly the same person.
- I hope you hurry up with that "usercheck" so you can see you were wrong and know that you've lost a potentially dedicated editor due to the paranoid and hostile nature of this community. Though I'm sure you'll be happy nonetheless, we certainly can't have controversial views disrupting the propaganda machine now can we? Sceneshock (talk) 00:54, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

- Sceneshock is Unrelated, but has some explaining to do nonetheless, and should probably email me pronto. (His own email is not enabled.) Thatcher 05:19, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Similar-patterned edits, pro-Communist tendentious POV-pushing, the usual crap. Yada yada yada. I'd like a quick checkuser to confirm before I block, thanks. Please see Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Jacob Peters for a pile of IPs to compare against. Moreschi (talk) (debate) 21:02, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
- Clearly Jacob Peters. Has already violated 3RR by doing 6 reverts against several other editors on the Lenin's Hanging Order article. Lots of complaints on his talk page. Usual mass deletion of of sourced material on Communist massacres to be replaced by the official Communist party line like here: [1]Ultramarine (talk) 00:05, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- Was coming here to request a check. The only puzzling thing is the apparent decision to ignore 3RR, when IIRC Peters generally games it. --Relata refero (disp.) 09:39, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

After being dormant for a while it seems Jacob Peters has returned. All of Gulijan's edits are pro-Communist POV pushing similar to edits by Jacob Peters and his multitude of banned sockpuppets. A good example: one is an edit from confirmed JP sock "Hadjin":[2] and this one from "Gulijan":[3] Both socks have somewhat similar names and both add "controversy" or "criticism" sections to these articles on historians who specialise in the crimes of Communism.--C.J. Our old friend is back, POV pushing on his usual Soviet-related articles. There was a slew of edits from this account until early January, then it was dormant until today. He made an edit to the Vladimir Lenin article, again pushing his pro-Stalin POV [15]. The edit summary (including the edit summaries from this account in the past) are classic Peters. This IP is probably Peters. One of his other IP socks was filling up the Talk:Mengistu Haile Mariam page with OT arguments that there is no evidence for any victims of Saddam's gassing of Halabja in Kurdistan (which is patently absurd on its face; there are mountains of evidence that at least 5000 people definitely perished in that chemical attack)... Someone else came along and deleted the conversation explaining it was a Peters sock yet again... Just now the whole OT conversation was replaced by the above IP. ፈቃደ (ውይይት) 22:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

More removal of the sourced material that Jacob doesn't like on the pages that he doesn't like: see [22], [23], [24]. Same pro-Soviet POV, and the edit summaries make it blatantly apparent that we've seen this user before somewhere. And the usual incivility on talk pages at [25]. If someone could get to this quickly, it would be much appreciated. Moreschi Deletion! 19:47, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
- The IP listed above is most likely Jacob Peters too. Same network range as his many other socks, same POV, and Backdash has continued an edit war the IP was involved in here [26]. --C33 20:38, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

See related discussion at ANI.
See contribs - identical pattern to Jacob Peters, same articles. Jacob Peters is currently blocked for over a month for sockpuppetry. Same edit warring with Stalinist POV on Joseph Stalin [45]. Here he reverts the inclusion of sources that he doesn't like. See also this, where he complains on the talk about sources he doesn't like. Identical pattern to our old friend, IMO. I could swear I've seen exactly that change before by the Jacob Peters account, just off to hunt. Almost the same edit, identical POV pushing, here by Jacob Peters. Moreschi Deletion! 18:43, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- I've added the IP editor 69.110.129.77 to the request. Same pattern of disparaging sources he disagrees with, same Pro-Soviet POV, same ISP/location as many of his other IP socks: --C33 19:25, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- Also please note that the minute Fox33 stopped editing Soviet war in Afghanistan, the IP started editing the same article. Moreschi Deletion! 19:48, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have also added User:Daniel Shays to the list. Like Jacob Peters typically does, Daniel Shays is edit warring on Holodomor, and used the term "weasel words" in an edit summary in a way reminiscent of Fox33, suggesting that the two are related, regardless of whether or not they're connected to Jacob Peters. Note also this revert to last version by Fox33, again suggesting an attempt to evade 3RR, even if not connected with Jacob Peters (although I suspect ther are). Heimstern Läufer 22:10, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
- Added another IP editor 68.121.87.85. His only edit is a revert to an edit of the above mentioned user 69.110.129.77 on Soviet war in Afghanistan --C33 01:55, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- The final IP was, I would imagine, added as result of this edit, where it removes the suspected sock tag from one of those listed here. Moreschi Deletion! 19:58, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
-
- Yes indeed! Sorry I forgot to mention that. TheQuandry 21:52, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
- I have added 69.105.31.69 and FBabeuf. Simply the way FBabeuf (talk · contribs) signs his comments makes me think it's JP – note the signature on its own line at the end (here's the same thing from JP). Fbabeuf and 69.105.31.69 are clearly the same person based on the continuation of the edits between the two on Vladimir Lenin. -- tariqabjotu 19:52, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
- BTW, is anyone planning to get round to this one this side of the current decade? Thanks to Tariqabjotu for helping out. Cheers, Moreschi Deletion!
- Nah, I figured we let this one age and then bottle it as Special Reserve. Likely that all four are the same user. No comment on the IP addresses. Mackensen (talk) 12:02, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Looks like another JP sock. Perhaps not as obvious as previous socks because this account has no Talk page posts, but everything else is in character - pro-Stalinist edits, same sort of broken-English incivility (this time in the edit summaries), false information in edit summaries (marking edits as 'grammatical corrections' when they aren't) etc. - Merzbow 23:31, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

69.110.222.228's contributions are to Soviet-related topics, which are what Jacob Peters usually edits, and take a clear pro-Soviet anti-Western POV lining up with Jacob Peters's: [48], [49], [50], [51]. Perhaps most obvious is the use of the not-too-common term "agitprop" [52], which Jacob Peters also uses [53]. The tone of the IP, dismissing his opponents as illogical and spreading propoganda, is also very like Jacob Peters's. Jacob Peters has already been blocked several times for edit warring and other disruption and for sockpuppetry [54]. Heimstern Läufer 02:35, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

I find this comment by 68.127.37.13 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log) oddly similar to this comment by Iskra1 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log), given they are writing about the same sentence and deriding Alan Bullock. Note that the IP was blocked as a sockpuppet of Jacob Peters (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · block user · block log) (at least according to 68.127.37.13's block log). Here's another comment by Iskra1 (talk · contribs) that appears to take a position similar to that taken by 68.127.37.13 (talk · contribs) here. This edit by Iskra1 (talk · contribs) is also a carbon-copy of this edit by 68.127.37.13 (talk · contribs). I, thus, feel convinced that Jacob Peters (talk · contribs) is once again evading a block through sockpuppetry. -- tariqabjotu 23:18, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
