Excessive use of the term "Negro"

  • Phral- this is a recent single purpose account. The user is already familiar with wikipedia so is a putative sockpuppet.

This user has editing behaviour similar to that of Hayden5650. That user happened to encounter with me through repeated vandalism and offending talk at Romani related articles, as you can see below in the previous cases against him. Now this user took a part of my username, using my identity and presenting himself on the userpage with my entire username written in Devanagari (देसीफ्राल). That was the first username, changed afterwards to Phral. I request a permanent ban also for User:देसीफ्राल, because this one is using also my identity. I agree the editing behavior is very similar. How is he able to continually come back like this after User:Nordic Crusader was blocked, and then be able to edit under Hayden5650 until it was confirmed he was also a sock? Isn't this "gaming the system"? - Jeeny Talk 17:28, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
It's not even "gaming" the system, it is simply breaking the rules because the system is too weak to prevent this from happening. We have options, such as checkuser, but even those are limited, as he could have used a proxy or something to make his IP appear located elsewhere. We'll see if that is the case, and pursue other options if it is. The Behnam 18:06, 22 August 2007 (UTC)


I agree with the real Desiphral's account. I'm going to copy my reasons for suspicion here from User talk:Jeeny:

While it is difficult because he hasn't edited many articles aside from white people, Phral (talk · contribs) reminds me of Hayden5650 (talk · contribs)/Nordic Crusader (talk · contribs). Shared points include the inappropriate use of "negro" on article and talk pages (compare [6][7] with [8][9][10][11],...). I also noticed that they both seem to think of "OJ Simpson" as their example black (note Phral's use of OJ Simpson in the Negro edits and compare to [12]). That's a minor point but it seems more meaningful in the greater picture. Also, Phral has focused almost entirely upon undoing Muntuwandi's edits and opposing Muntuwandi, much as Hayden5650 did. A simple look at the the contribs of the accounts in question confirms this. It is very odd for a new user to appear with the primary purpose of undoing a certain editor - usually this means that the user is not actually new. On this note, Phral has claimed (as many apparent socks have claimed) that he has been editing as "anon" for awhile [13]. While it is nearly impossible to negate such a vague and unverifiable claim, it does not even explain his familiarity with images [14], nor the obsession with Muntuwandi. As for his Romani name, I gave a possible explanation here [15]. I also think that there may be a common point over Hitler & Nazi-related issues, but frankly I'm tired of sorting through diffs on dialup. Tell me if you see anything of the sort. Overall I have trouble believing Phral's creation myth about his account, and am more inclined to think that he is a sock of Hayden5650 primarily because of the agenda against Muntuwandi and the use of "negro." Y'all tell me what you think of this possibility. I've been considering opening a 'suspected sockpuppet' page.

User:Phrallus Secondus has opened this account under the name "Phral the second" and has imediately given his position in a mediation case on the Talk:White people page, a page that User:Phrall was heavily involved in. This is surely a simple case? Muntuwandi 05:51, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

Hayden is blocked for one month [16], expiring 11 July, but an anon with a very similar address to one used previously by Hayden is continuing an edit war at Weston, New Zealand.-gadfium 05:51, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I've added User:Iımegreeŋ to the list as an abusive impersonator of User:Limegreen, the other party in the Weston article. I'm not sure if this part of the request would be considered fishing, as there's not much evidence to link this party to Hayden.-gadfium 05:55, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
I've added an additional IP (125.237.101.116). The way the 2 IPs have picked up the exact same issue with the article (where if, they are one and the same, they appear to live) makes me think they are the same. Hayden started the article, and apart from various bots coming and going, almost all the contributions are either mine, or Hayden or the IPs. Also, the fact that the contested demographic section emphasises the ethnic makeup of Weston, New Zealand, along with Hayden's prior history of editing 'ethnic' topics, also makes it very likely they are one and the same.--Limegreen 08:15, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
This user is at the third block, but continuing to edit with the same style, which strongly suggests having no intent to improve (see also the last contributions with 202.124.103.146, or the comments from his userpage, or yesterday's mocking of an unblock). This user is currently reblocked, Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/IncidentArchive253#Re:New_block_for_Hayden5650. Today from these two IPs it was voted at Talk:Romani_people#Vote_on_Racial_History, [17] & [18] and with the latter there were made disruptive edits at Talk:Jew, [19] & [20]. The history of these two IPs and the pattern of their edits strongly suggest that they were used by Hayden5650. They are both from Aukland, the same as 125.237.116.59, that was confirmed as his IP in the previous block. Desiphral-देसीफ्राल 09:32, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Note that User:222.155.166.204 was by his own admission Hayden (this IP not added to the report as it was a permitted sock so he could participate in a particular discussion going on at Wikipedia talk:New Zealand Wikipedians' notice board#M.C4.81ori_names). Orderinchaos 21:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
