- Code letter: B
- Supporting evidence: Haizum (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log · rfcu) was banned for years of incivility, attacks, and POV pushing per this discussion on ANI. He vowed immediately afterward on User talk:Haizum to simply come back and evade the ban unless he was unblocked, issuing an ultimatum. His talk page was locked, and he was gone. Just over 30 days later, Neutral Good (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · page moves · block user · block log) arrives, and along with various IP addresses, immediately lays into me with a variety of arguments extremely similar to Haizum's style on Talk:Waterboarding, where I had been lately. The IPs and new user all displayed an amazing knowledge of Wikipedia, and User:The_Anome agreed with this assessment. Current ANI thread here. Thanks. Lawrence Cohen 16:00, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Further supporting evidence
This discussion posting has User:Neutral Good referring (according to his/her own admission below, using an anon IP beginning with "68") to him/herself in the third person; along with the numerous other postings to the same discussion page from various anon IPs (and possibly also registered accounts under other usernames), this is apparently being done to create the illusion of numbers on his/her side, when in fact all the postings are made by a single editor. The fact that the editor refers to him/herself in the third person shows bad faith, and calls for an extended block. Badagnani (talk) 02:20, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
“ | Calling you POV pushers and NPOV violators isn't a personal attack. If anything, it's an understatement. I think calling Neutral Good a sock puppet is a far better example of a personal attack, but you didn't have a problem with it. Selective outrage is such a joy on this special morning. Merry Christmas. 68.31.210.220 (talk) 12:29, 25 December 2007 (UTC) | ” |
- Note: Newanda is a confirmed sock of banned user Haizum, and should be blocked. Lawrence Cohen 18:00, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- This edit by Neutral Good is textbook Haizum. Lawrence Cohen 01:56, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
All four of the "68" IP addresses resolve to the same ISP on the East Coast of the US, and appear to be a single and consistent train of thought. I suggest this may be a single user with a highly dynamic IP, such as a Sprint wireless account. He voted only once in consensus. The "76" IP address is mine, and it resolves to the Midwestern US. I registered for a named account during the course of my participation on Talk:Waterboarding. I've participated from anonymous IP addresses like the "68" editor for years, as anyone has a right to do without being falsely accused like this, and I too voted only once in consensus. If the editor making this false accusation is unhappy with the way several real editors have responded to his editing style, he may wish to consider the possibility that the source of the problem is his editing style. Checkuser editors are reminded that this person is engaged in a bitter content dispute and therefore has a motive for coloring what he describes as "textbook Haizum." Thanks. - In my opinion, there is not much of a case to answer here, given that User: Newanda has not edited in over a year and a half. The evidence connecting Neutral Good to User: Haizum is circumstantial, to say the least. However, I can state that Neutral Good is Unrelated to any of the others, and note that hir comments, seeing as s/he has commented about hir own IP addresses, are accurate - Alison ❤ 02:27, 27 December 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks Alison, we just wanted to be sure due to the extreme similarity in tone and language. This can be archived. Sorry, Neutral. Lawrence Cohen 02:34, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you, Alison. Lawrence, now that this ugliness is behind us, I hope that we can work on the Waterboarding article in a constructive manner together. Neutral Good (talk) 03:36, 27 December 2007 (UTC)
- Given the groundless threats you posted on my talk page, I doubt we will include you. Inertia Tensor (talk) 12:21, 28 December 2007 (UTC)
