[edit] Persistant usertalk vandal

Some users are endlessly defacing User talk:Chris 73. Since the attacks are always separated by at least a day, this is very probably the same IP again and again. Can you check that and block that IP for a long time if that's possible? Thanks! (I'd be very happy to file an abuse report :)) -- lucasbfr talk 18:08, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

PS: some users are tagged as being Tojo, but I'm not that sure (hence me not listing it there). -- lucasbfr talk 18:11, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
It's Tojo all right, and there are quite a few sockies under there. Can we possibly merge this case with General Tojo's cu history? I'll keep working the case here - Alison 18:43, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
IP blocked - the main IPs, as well as a few other socks - Alison 22:15, 30 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] General Tojo

This user has been blocked indef, but multiple sockpuppets have been attacking User talk:Chris 73. They are adding sections exactly the same as other confirmed socks have done.

Soxred93 has a boring sig

Clerk note: All of these accounts are now indef blocked. I just blocked Jules Verrne for personal attacks. -JodyB talk 17:24, 29 December 2007 (UTC)

Looks like they're finding a way around whatever IP block(s) were in place. – Luna Santin (talk) 12:39, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed, needless to say. Unfortunately, this editor is using three /17 ranges of a popular ISP and applying a rangeblock in any way will cause a lot of collateral damage - Alison 13:54, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Ah, tricky. Thanks for looking. – Luna Santin (talk) 23:31, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] General Tojo 3

Behaviour highly typical for a Tojo sock on Parkinson's disease. More information on the LTA page and in previous requests. General Tojo (talk · contribs) is under a community ban for POV pushing, personal attacks and heavy sockpuppeteering on the Parkinson's page. JFW | T@lk 20:31, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Confirmed. Dmcdevit·t 09:20, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Possibility of these two user to be sockpuppets for the community banned vandal and mass sockpuppeteer General Tojo, (Wikipedia:Long term abuse/General Tojo), suspicion based on edit history, also XX7 is used by Tojo on Meta. Chris 73 | Talk 22:19, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Retract my request, was hanging around too long, currently not an issue. May reactivate this request if problems flare up again -- Chris 73 | Talk 23:45, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] General Tojo 2

Wikipedia:Long term abuse/General Tojo provides most details on this sad saga where one user mobilised 100s of sockpuppets to war with an increasing number of users, including several admins, with regards to Parkinson's disease. Tojo (a presumed alias of Keith Bridgeman) was blocked by community ban, and the ArbComm had to intervene to maximise the block. Now, a user has appeared that edited little during the PD wars but engaged in edits that were typical of Tojo (see User_talk:Gerard Doyle) but somehow managed to escape the blocks. This same user now pushes non-standard views on the Parkinson's page and makes accusations rather similar to Tojo's past defenses on his talkpage. JFW | T@lk 20:04, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

Note: Someone who has older checkuser data on Tojo on file is going to have to handle this. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 18:09, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

The deleted August 7 edits at Special:Undelete/Parkinson's_disease were made by Tojo socks and Tracer is a likely Tojo sock on meta if anyone has cross project Checkuser access. --  Netsnipe  ►  19:55, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Comment: Uninvited, you may have some of the earlier data on file yourself, per the second request here. Newyorkbrad 02:12, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I think Fred Bauder would be best suited to check this one, since he has complied an extensive page about GT socks here. 01:08, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
RJ68 is definitely Tojo coming in from Emirates Telecommunications Corporation. I believe he lives in England, but somehow can use Emirates Telecommunications Corporation in Dubai. I hesitate to block this provider as some of the few Arabs who edit here use that provider. Emailing Emirates Telecommunications Corporation gets no response. Fred Bauder 02:12, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Checkuser is not really necessary to identify Tojo. He has a very limited repertoire of tendentious editing of Parkinson's disease and related articles and insertion of scurrilous information into articles about black athletes and entertainers. Fred Bauder 02:19, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Fred, our main concern is Gerard Doyle (talk · contribs). Could you check his origin (UK or Emirates?). JFW | T@lk 18:33, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] General Tojo2

A slightly non standard request. I'm trying to send a complaint to an ISP I'm probably going to need Ips but I will need the foundations permission for that. In the mean time I don't want the IP to be lost by falling out of the logs. So I would like the Ips to be extracted and and a record kept. Idealy a copy would be forwarded to Brad Patrick. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Geni (talkcontribs)

The dif I need IPs recorded from are:

  • Logged. I will await an email from Brad before releasing the log. The Uninvited Co., Inc. 20:29, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] General Tojo

General Tojo was blocked for edit warring and disruption on Parkinson's disease and took to continuing to disrupt from IPs in the 88.104.0.0/13 range. After I semi-protected the article to stop the ongoing problems, the three users above showed up to continue with similar changes. GraemeL (talk) 14:13, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

I've blocked Hirohito indefinitely for incendiary username, and Parkinsons for 48h for sockpuppeting using the Hirohito account. Their style (and choice of subject) is identical. A range block may become necessary if the disruption does not cease. JFW | T@lk 15:48, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

That's a deliberately false statement. General Tojo was blocked for the username. It was claimed to be not allowed, and so resulted in a blocking without complying with Wii requirements first. What you describe as warring and disruption was making improvements to the PD site. You specifically thanked me for making them !!! However, you obviousy have double standards. When you or somebody you agree with makes changes no matter how stupied you allow them. When I do exactly the same you desribe it as vandalaism or warring. You have obvious double standards depending on what suits your personal interest and prejudices. General Tojo. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.106.216.81 (talk • contribs)

That user's only edits are in violating WP:NPA on two pages. I took the liberty of adding that address to your list of IP addresses since he claims to be Tojo. All of the contributions follow exactly the same style of writing, commenting, editwarring, 3RR violations, Personal Attacks, Bold Prefacing, massive editing, etc, along with claiming to be Tojo himself on talk pages without signing his name with tildes. Sincerely, Logical2u (Wikibreak) 19:31, 26 June 2006 (UTC)
  • Clerk note: Excessive strong/bold text de-bolded. General Tojo was indeed indef blocked for "disruption". Kevin_b_er 23:28, 26 June 2006 (UTC)

    • There is a new page on Tojo: Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of General Tojo. Not sure if these sockpuppets need to be checked or not since they are so obvious. Logical2u (Wikibreak) 15:38, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Could you also investigate:

Confirmed these as well. Mackensen (talk) 13:12, 1 July 2006 (UTC)

Further additional requests

Additionally...

I'm wondering if we shouldn't do a range block on this one. There seem to be few other edits emanating from that range, and Tojo remains a complete and utter nuisance on the PD page as well as Japan-related articles. JFW | T@lk 12:15, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Clerk note: Additional names added July 2. It should be noted that once a user has established a pattern of abusively using sockpuppets, it is not necessary to prove each one by technical investigation before taking action. Thatcher131 16:48, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. I'll check the range (88.104.0.0/13) and implement a block shortly. Mackensen (talk) 16:55, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

  • I'm seeing too much potential collateral damage here. Keep tagging them suspected; I'll try to keep up. Mackensen (talk) 16:58, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Well done. Keep the good work up. --General.Tojo 18:14, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

  • Always good to hear from our fans. I've applied a limited range-block; we'll see how it goes. Mackensen (talk) 20:43, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
    • since Gt is editing from IP's in the range of 88.106.100+.xx, wouldn't it be better to use a range block (88.106.255.0/13) or (88.106.255.0/15)? -- Chris 73 | Talk 21:07, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
      • You might have something there. Mackensen (talk) 22:40, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Clerk note: moved commentary to talk page. Thatcher131 19:54, 4 July 2006 (UTC)

Clerk note: This request is closed and the names added recently are probably not being seen by the checkusers. New suspects should be added to Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of General Tojo and you should post a notice at the administrator's noticeboard to request that new sockpuppet accounts be blocked.Thatcher131 16:03, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
