Suspected sockpuppet of the now-banned Altai Khan, who has also used other usernames and IPs (see below). Moreschi (talk) 17:41, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm requesting checkuser to see whether Altai Khan (talk • contribs • logs • block user • block log • checkuser)'s IP can be connected to any of these three IPs listed, particularly IP number 2. If so, he's not a new user, understands the rules of the game, and can be dealt with harshly. If not a more gentle approach will be required. The connection between all 4 is the same POV-pushing on Safavids ("the Safavids were pure Turkic"), in addition to the insulting conduct. Moreschi (talk) 20:21, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
Likelythat Altai Khan is banned user Tajik, especially given his contributions. The IPs may or may not have been Tajik but they're stale anyway. Thatcher 23:54, 26 March 2008 (UTC)- I've talked with someone who is more of an expert on this case, who pointed out that Khan's edits are the opposite of Tajik's point of view and are consistent with the 85.176 editor, who has been around for a while (see Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/E104421). So I guess I have to say Inconclusive then. Kahn is not coming from the 85.176 ISP but is in a compatible geographic area. Thatcher 02:10, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- comment. I have been informed via E-mail that he is the banned user: "Cumukan" [[1]]in German Wikipedia[[2]]. Of course Thatcher can easily confirm the person is from a German speaking region. The same user has been editing Safawids in the German Wikipedia, pushing for the same POV. It is one thing to have a discussion, but he also has been banned in German Wikipedia. So the match is 100% (with the name too Altaikhan and CumuKhan). Also what else makes Altai Khan close to the ip's of check-user, is a very extremely rare claim that Bahram Chobin was a Turk. I have dealt with people that have Altai Khan's viewpoints on history but have never heard of this peculiar one. It came from the ip in the Safavid page, and even when I removed the ip's edit (due to his nationalistic/personal attacks), Altai Khan made the same statement, although he registered much later than the ip. --alidoostzadeh (talk) 05:51, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

- Additional Comment. The range of ip also is the same/close to that of user Moorudd. Please check this case as well:[[3]].[[4]] --alidoostzadeh (talk) 19:27, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

- Ok, thanks. I think we're done here, it looks clear enough. Changing ISP is easily done, so the geographic location is sufficient to establish identity. 81.99.113.232 (talk) 21:37, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, analysis of openly used IPs does not require special tools. Thatcher 00:30, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
