Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Everyking 3/Evidence

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Anyone, whether directly involved or not, may add evidence to this page. Please make a header for your evidence and sign your comments with your name.

When placing evidence here, please be considerate of the arbitrators and be concise. Long, rambling, or stream-of-conciousness rants are not helpful.

As such, it is extremely important that you use the prescribed format. Submitted evidence should include a link to the actual page diff; links to the page itself are not sufficient. For example, to cite the edit by Mennonot to the article Anomalous phenomenon adding a link to Hundredth Monkey use this form: [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Anomalous_phenomenon&diff=5587219&oldid=5584644] [1].

This page is not for general discussion - for that, see talk page.

Please make a section for your evidence and add evidence only in your own section. Please limit your evidence to a maximum 1000 words and 100 diffs, a much shorter, concise presentation is more likely to be effective. Please focus on the issues raised in the complaint and answer and on diffs which illustrate behavior which relates to the issues.

If you disagree with some evidence you see here, please cite the evidence in your own section and provide counter-evidence, or an explanation of why the evidence is misleading. Do not edit within the evidence section of any other user.

Be aware that the Arbitrators may at times rework this page to try to make it more coherent. If you are a participant in the case or a third party, please don't try to refactor the page, let the Arbitrators do it. If you object to evidence which is inserted by other participants or third parties please cite the evidence and voice your objections within your own section of the page. It is especially important to not remove evidence presented by others. If something is put in the wrong place, please leave it for the arbitrators to move.

[edit] Evidence presented by Snowspinner

I'm out of town for the weekend. Expect evidence Monday evening. Snowspinner 12:50, July 30, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] 11 July

    • "This is ridiculous. Using a sock to make one edit on a talk page is harmless. How does that compare to blocking a legit contributor on a false charge for a month? Which is worse? And good Lord we've got to get Snowspinner's adminship removed somehow. This stuff is downright destructive." When asked to file an RfAr or RfC rather than just complaining on WP:AN/I, Everyking refused. (The whole thread is ugly, really.)

[edit] 20 July

  • 4:48 UTC
    • Everyking questions Snowspinner's judgement...impolitely: "Retreat to policy when the policy suits you, block and call it "common sense" when it doesn't."

[edit] 27 July

  • 3:50 UTC and 4:01 UTC
    • A couple of jabs at Snowspinner, implying that Snowspinner blocks users who argue with him. ("It is only by the grace of Phil that you have not been permabanned as well. Be thankful for that, and question no more." and "It was a joke. He bans people for the equivalent of looking at him funny.")

[edit] 03 August

Even after the filing of this RfAr, Everyking directs a sarcastic remark at Snowspinner: "You're kidding. No way." in response to Snowspinner expressing an interest in verifying a sockpuppet claim ("...I just wanted to double check the IP info.")

[edit] My own comments

Although I made several good-faith diplomatic attempts to discourage other editors from harassing Everyking and encouraged him to moderate his tone and file an RfC or RfArb against Snowspinner, he demurred. My own behaviour and comments have been less-than-ideal at times, and I have made some sharp remarks to various parties pleading for (ironically) additional civility.

Comments to other editors not to taunt Everyking:

Everyking refuses to file RFC, based on perceived ArbCom bias. (Asks me to do it for him.)
