[edit] ronan.evans
Final (1/4/3) ended 03:24, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
ronan.evans (talk · contribs) – I have edited Wikipedia for a while now and are very enthusiastic about the site. I have formed the backbone of many articles- Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Queanbeyan Whites, Gungahlin Eagles- to name a few. It is my hope that I may continue this with increased powers (particularly against vandals). I think that I have the proper judgement to distinguish vandalism from new editors and have often in the past encouraged new editors. I always go out of my way to clamp down on blatant and obvious vandalism and try my hardest to un-POV articles that I come across. I also like to scan articles for errors of spelling and grammar. I hope that I can find the support in the Wikipedia community to succed in this quest for adminship and ask for you to look at my history before voting. I obviously accept my nomination. - Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here: I hereby withdraw my nomination and acceptance of said nomination Ronan.evans 03:24, 15 July 2006 (UTC):
- Support
- Moral Support I've seen you do excellent work on rugby articles, mate. However, I suggest you withdraw your request, as it's likely to fail and I'd hate to see you become jaded at the potential votes for opposition and stop editing. You're a valuable contributor and I'd be happy to nominate you myself once you get some experience with handling vandalism (one of your reasons for wanting the tools) and becoming more familiar with Wikipedia policies. Cheers! hoopydinkConas tá tú? 02:03, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose
- Oppose for insufficient edit experience and withdrawal is recommended.--Jusjih 01:58, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose - I'm sorry, but you have fewer than 500 edits. Experience is an issue. Please withdraw. Michael 02:00, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose. Not enough experience, sorry. Try again in a few months. Kalani [talk] 02:02, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose. Inexperience. DarthVader 02:02, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Neutral
- (Don't want to pile on oppose) - Your edit count is too low, recommending withdraw. --WinHunter (talk) 01:55, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Avoid pile on. Edit count is too low and Wikipedia space edits are next to none. Also, edit summary usage for ronan.evans: 9% for major edits and 33% for minor edits. Based on the last 150 major and 3 minor edits in the article namespace. That's never good. Suggest withdrawal. Roy A.A. 02:06, 15 July 2006 (UTC)
- Anti-Pile on. You need more edits, more interaction in the WP: namespace and more edit summaries for starters. ShaunES 02:54, 15 July 2006 (UTC).

- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
- I general I would enjoy taking the fight to blatant vandals and attempting to remove POV. I would love to continue writing articles about thinks I am passionate about. I would also be there for new users and editors to ask for help and guidance. I also help out with Wikipedia:WikiProject Rugby union.:
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- Queanbeyan, New South Wales, Jerrabomberra, New South Wales- I have often edited these articles as they are about my home area. Before my involvement Queanbeyan looked very shabby and Jerrabomberra did not exist. They are now fairly strong articles.:
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Obviosly it is quite annoying to be in such a situation. I try to strike a fair balance and appeal to other editors to express what they think about the conflict. I then refer to wikipedia policy and attempt to put myslef in the other editors shoes. A fair resolution has always come about.:
