Delisted early. Essjay TalkContact 03:01, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

mtmdem (talk · contribs) – With a depth of knowledge in various issues, including the world government, politics, and history, I have a lot to contribute. Since most high-profile articles fall into this category, I can keep a close eye out for vandals and keep Wikipedia fair and accurate. I look forward to expanding and improving Wikipedia. Mtmdem 07:23, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

On behalf of the Wikipedia community, I hereby nominate myself.

Oppose

  1. Oppose 50 total edits is simply not enough.--MONGO 07:43, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  2. Oppose only be editing for 6 days on very few articles --pgk(talk) 07:45, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  3. Oppose. Too green, with red talk page. Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 08:44, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  4. Oppose, not ready by any means. Christopher Parham (talk) 08:54, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  5. Oppose. Needs to demonstrate the claimed depth of knowledge, preparedness to deal with the grunt-work, and ability to interact with other users. --Scott Davis Talk 09:02, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  6. Oppose. Mtmdem started out editing articles pretty much the same way I did and seems to have many of the same interests. If he sticks around, I'm sure he will be a valuable asset to Wikipedia. However I have over 3 times as many edits as he does and would not even consider nominating myself at this point. Someone with 50+ total edits is not ready. Martin-C 09:48, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  7. Oppose some months too early. Dlyons493 Talk 14:13, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  8. Oppose as above Astrotrain 15:03, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  9. Oppose as per reasons above. Is this actually serious? Private Butcher 15:27, 16 October 2005 (UTC)
  10. Weak oppose This user really needs more experience on Wikipedia. However, I've seen a good start. I would reccomend re-nominating yourself in a month or two months if you want to be an admin and really feel that you're ready now. 11. OpposeI'm sure this guy will at some time make an excellent admin, giving him the authority right now would be a bit like electing Carnell Williams to the NFL Hall of Fame today: its just way too soon. Youngamerican 15:27, 18 October 2005 (UTC)

  • The items you mention under sysop chores are all things you can do as an ordinary user.--pgk(talk) 08:25, 16 October 2005 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. I have nothing but contempt for vandals, and I will do by best to closely monitor and correct the acts of vandals.
B. I can "clean" current articles, checking for simply grammatical and spelling errors.
C. I can offer mediation in disputes among members and administrators.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. While I didn't write the whole article, I added a lot to the Robert C. Byrd entry. I included more pictures, books, and quotes. I also brought the article up-to-date.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A. I have not encountered any conflict as of yet.
