[edit] Vintei
Final (0/7/1); Closed due to snowballing by Daniel at 00:04, 12 October 2007 (UTC); Scheduled to end 21:38, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
Vintei (talk · contribs) - Hello. I have joined Wikipedia since 2005, and I have never stopped using it since. I believe that I have enough knowledge to be an administrator of Wikipedia. I will do my best to improve Wikipedia. Thank you. Vintei 21:38, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A:Not a lot at first. I'll have to grow into the role before I start resolving problems on WP:ANI or the like. I would get a whole lot of use from the tools in fighting vandalism and RC patrol. I've been doing less of that as I've been slow in migrating away from my increasingly obsolete favored method - browsing the RC page unassisted - but the counter on my user page should disperse any doubts about my activity in the field. There's a clear need for closing AfDs, but I'd have to mostly recuse myself from fiction AfDs, where I've been particularily active lately since they've been the same.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A:The Obelisk of Light page, although it has been merged into another page. This is my first contribution to Wikipedia, and I put my best into it.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A:No.
Question from User:Piotrus
- 4. Would you add yourself to Category:Wikipedia administrators open to recall? Why, or why not? -- Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus | talk 22:21, 11 October 2007 (UTC)

Oppose
- Oppose, sorry, I just think you're way too inexperienced at this point. Take a look at this page to see some of the successful RfAs. And like J-stan said, get into the habit of leaving an edit summary. *Cremepuff222* 21:58, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose and suggest withdrawal. Sorry, but this has no chance of succeeding at this stage; while editcounting is A Bad Thing, 300 edits over two years is far too low for us to get any kind of idea about your understanding of policy. The fact that your talk page consists almost entirely of warnings also doesn't give me confidence that you understand policy at this stage. Don't get discouraged, though; plenty of people submit RFAs too early, and come back with more experience & become some of our best editors/admins. — iridescent (talk to me!) 21:59, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose. Sorry, the candidate hasn't enough experience yet. The lack of edit summaries is a real concern. The self-selected best contribituion is an article with no in-line references. Majoreditor 22:02, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose. Not enough experience yet. Only 300 edits isn't enough for others to judge your knowledge of policy and procedures. Very rarely does a candidate pass RFA with under 2000 edits. Not to mention your answer to question 1 is nearly a copy of Kizor's (the RFA just below this one). I recommend using edit summaries, contributing to WP:AFD and other admin-like areas, and withdrawing this RFA. If you ever have any questions about anything, I'm always available on my talk page. - Oppose - few edits and lack of edit summaries. Please consider joining a WikiProject or edit something that you enjoy. Come back in a couple of months and let's see where you are from then. Miranda 22:16, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose - Hate to pile on, but not enough experience. --Eye of the minD 23:25, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Oppose - sorry but you just don't have enough experience yet. Keep up the good work and consider taking part in deletion discussions such as WP:AFD to get a feel for areas where admin tools would be useful... WjBscribe 00:02, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Neutral
- Neutral I can't support at this time. You are too inexperienced. I suggest using the "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" option in "preferences". Edit summaries are important in reviewing contributions. J-ſtanTalkContribs 21:53, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
