[edit] Tom walker
Final (0/10/1) Ended 10:12, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
Tom walker (talk · contribs) – I have nominated myself as I have been an editor for heading towards a year, love wikipedia, hate vandals and want to further my contributions to this great repository of knowledge. User:Tom walker 08:44 22 July 2006
- Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here:
I withdraw. User:Tom walker 08:47 GMT 22 July 2006

- Oppose due to low edit summary use and malformed nom. RandyWang (raves/rants) 08:16, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose per low edit summary usage and lack of Wikipedia: namespace experience. BryanG(talk) 08:22, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose - per experience issues, "hating vandals" is not the right stance (at least not publicly) - we need to work with them to make them good editors (or ban em, your pick) -- Tawker 08:32, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose per the irony of misspelling 'knowledge'. Themindset 08:34, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose per above arguments. But don't let that discourage you, come back after you have more experience! SynergeticMaggot 08:43, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose. Has a fair use picture on his userpage. While I don't expect admins to know everything about copyright law, they should know enough about policy to know that isn't allowed. --Lord Deskana (talk) 08:50, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- It's nice to see that you're taking the comments here into consideration Tom, that's the right attitude to have. Please reapply when you have some more experience and I'm sure everyone here would be happy to support your RfA. Best wishes. --Lord Deskana (talk) 09:17, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose per above remarks. Low edit summary and inexperience is the main concern, please withdraw and give it a shot at a later time. Silensor 08:56, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose Too inexperienced, low edit count, low edit summary use, no real devotion or constant usage of Wikipedia (coming on once a month is not fitting of an admin.) Michael 09:07, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oppose per all above. I'm sorry, Tom, but I feel you're just not ready yet.--Firsfron of Ronchester 09:14, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- I suggest you withdraw your RfA as of now. --Nearly Headless Nick 09:17, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- Neutral
- Neutral. Sensible, nice person who I'd love to see become an admin in the future. Unfortunately not quite experienced enough at the moment. Keep up the good work! DarthVader 10:01, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

- How do I withdraw it? Tom walker
- For the record, the blanking by the candidate was done in completely good faith, and should not count against the candidate in this RfA or in any future RfAs. He was advised to blank the page to withdraw on his talk page. DarthVader 09:58, 22 July 2006 (UTC)
- See Tom walker's edit summary usage with mathbot's tool.
- Firstly, just corrected the 'knowledge' problem. Secondly, it should be noted that my editing backlog for some reason doesn't quite go all the way back to my first, which was the Leyland Titan. User:Tom walker 09:42 GMT
- Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Wikipedia backlog, and read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.
- A: I would from time to time use the ability to delete articles and templates only when absolutely required. Aside from that I would take efforts to aid in combatting vandalism and from time to time do several other smaller things if the oppertunity or need arises. User:Tom walker 08:50 22 July 2006
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A: I am proud of my creation of the articles for all thirteen episodes of Crusade (TV series) as well as the category for them. I am also proud of creating the articles about the modern Leyland Titan, The Hub:MK and many more. User:Tom walker 08:52 22 July 2006
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Not majorly as far as I can remember. Nothing bigger than a debate over a featured article candidate. User:Tom walker 08:53 22 July 2006.
