[edit] Schumi555
Final (0/12/0); WP:SNOW closed by Húsönd at 00:01, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Schumi555 (talk · contribs) - A Wikipedia member for nearly a year now, I have made a number of edits on a wide variety of pages. Although my edit count does not seem to be very big, I feel that a year's experience of admiring the work done by all administrators will help me to be effective if accepted. I dedicate a lot of my spare time to Wikipedia in creating and updating pages, and would be grateful to help with the administrative side in any way I can. Schumi555 21:28, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. You may wish to answer the following optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: I intend to take part in any admin work that seems necessary when I come across it. This would probably be in the areas that I am most familiar with, for example WP:Cricket and WP:F1. This may include blocking a user from editing pages if they continue to vandalise after numerous warnings, which is very frequent and sometimes does not get spotted. I aim to only use admin tools where necessary.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: My best contributions to Wikipedia, I feel, include the creation of the Queen's Park, Chesterfield page, where I travelled to the cricket ground to gather information, then added this to the article. I also feel that my current contributions, adding infoboxes to the biographies of past cricketers, give viewers of the page a greater insight into past cricketers.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: To date, I have not been in any conflicts over editing in the past. I try and be as considerate as possible to other users whilst editing pages, by only editing if I am certain that a mistake has been made. If I was to get entangled in a conflict with another user about editing, I would try and resolve the matter as effectively as possible, by explaining clearly to the user why I have made the edit, together with seeing why the user believes I am incorrect. To help avoid conflicts, I now try to give a detailed edit summary on every edit I make.
Optional question from Pheonix15
- 4. Please describe your attitude towards newcomers, especially ones with innapropriate names or ones who immediatly become vandals
Optional question from Iridescent
- 5. Please explain your understanding of NPOV, and do you understand why some editos would be concerned about this edit?

Comment: I know this user has a low edit count but adminship is (or at least should be) decided by how much we trust this user with the tools--Pheonix15 22:35, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

- Absolutely oppose I was wavering until I got to the "This user supports the British National Party" userbox. Due to this I have no confidence in your ability to maintain NPOV in disputes, and I do not want a self-proclaimed supporter of a white-supremacist organisation - who also uses our old friend the anti-gay userbox - as the public face of Wikipedia — iridescent (talk to me!) 22:27, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- I have a feeling he randomly picked userboxes just to stack them up without knowing much about what that Party signified. Wikidudeman (talk) 23:23, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Strong Oppose and Withdraw - Please. You only have 10 edits to the project space, and doesn't seem to know much of the policies from what I see. Try again in a few more months. --Hirohisat Talk 22:36, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

- Oppose Neither this user's politics, nor his absurdly long list of userboxes, should automatically bar him from adminship. But the very low participation in the project, with only 10 edits in wikipedia, none at all in wikitalk and very few in usertalk, mean that we have no way of assessing his knowledge of wiki policy or of wiki funtioning in general. --Anthony.bradbury"talk" 22:56, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- Per lack of experience in project space. Suggest withdrawal, sorry. Melsaran 23:09, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

- Oppose - I'm sorry, you don't have sufficient experience for me to support you at this time. I wish you all the best, but need you to understand that we simply don't have enough information to measure whether or not we can trust you with the tools. I suggest that you voluntarily withdraw this RFA. - Philippe | Talk 23:40, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
