[edit] Rholton

final (13/0/0) ending 23:23 07 January 2005 (UTC)

I have been with Wikipedia for over a year, and I am listed in the top 1000 for number of edits in the main namespace. The vast majority of my edits are "maintenance" edits, including some sporadic RC patrol.

Support

  1. Been here more than a year, has a good number of quality edits. I changed your link on Wikipedians/Iowa, hope you don't mind. --—Ben Brockert (42) UE News 00:34, Jan 1, 2005 (UTC)
Thanks! I did use the nickname Anthropos early on, but I have no problem is being myself. :) -Rholton 03:11, 1 Jan 2005 (UTC)

  • Editor has 3425 edits as of now, about 2/3rds of which are in the main namespace. His first edit was at 12:25, November 18, 2003. Considering that he has had less than 50 edits to his talk page, his edits seem uncontroversial. --—Ben Brockert (42) UE News 23:45, Dec 31, 2004 (UTC)

Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
A. I expect that I will use the delete capability to facilitate page moves as appropriate. I will also use the sysop revert and delete features for dealing with vandalism. As needed I will help implementing the outcome of such things as VfD.
2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A. The contribution I'm most pleased with is small yet far-reaching. It was at my suggestion that the wording of the stub message was changed from "...by fixing it." to "...by expanding it." I think this helps to set the correct tone for new users who create a stub. We don't imply that the page is "broken", just that it needs to be expanded.
I've also been involved in some of the never-ending tasks, like finding parents for orphaned pages.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
A. The type of work I typically do is not very prone to conflict. No, I've never been in any edit conflicts that required more than a simple exchange to resolve. I prefer discussing those sorts of issues, rather than slugging it out on the article page.
I dislike stress, and I will generally take a break when I get excited. As an admin, I will take the same approach.
