[edit] RedWordSmith
final (22/0/1) (22/0/1) ending 20:14 3 Dec 2004 (UTC)
RedWordSmith is careful, polite, and has an interest in janitorial tasks. E has been an editor for several months and made a lot of edits. Someone I consider a solid contributor. Wile E. Heresiarch 20:14, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Oppose
Neutral #Mgm|(talk) 20:25, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC) He seems to be quite new to the project (or he had a Wikivacation for 7 months. I'd like RedWordSmith to answer the nomination questions before I consider changing my vote. Mgm|(talk) 20:25, Nov 26, 2004 (UTC)
- Account is pretty young. Come back later and perhaps I'll support then. --Improv 08:55, 27 Nov 2004 (UTC)

- Umm, are we talking about the same User:RedWordSmith here? [1] seems to show edits since 21 June 2004. Wile E. Heresiarch 21:19, 26 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't know what my computer is doing, but you're right. I informed Improv of my mistake. Mgm|(talk) 11:41, Nov 27, 2004 (UTC)
Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What sysop chores, if any, would you anticipate helping with? (Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list.)
- A. I imagine I'll generally just keep editing Wikipedia like I do now, going from page to page, fixing things as I see them. I check recent changes and new pages every now and then, and I'd probably call some VfD discussions and look at Category:Candidates for speedy deletion every so often as an admin. I've also done vandalism reverting and I'd pay attention to any requests to do something "adminy" on my talk page, of course.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A. I've cleaned up and expanded some articles. I turned Robin Hanson into a fairly nice stub. I've recently done some work on Government spending. Disgaea, an article that I started, is looking pretty good lately. I've also written and expanded articles on various anime titles, including Angel Links, Kino's Journey, and Steel Angel Kurumi, and added some pictures to Wikipedia, like in Chicken soup and Prairie.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and will deal with it in the future?
- A. I've had some minor conflicts here and there, although nothing major that I can think of. I try to avoid pages on extremely controversial issues. I complained to Mintguy for changing "Thrift store" into Charity shop after a merge of those articles, but we agreed to let that stand. I'm currently in a dispute over the neutrality of The Road to Serfdom, but things seem to be going fine there. Lowellian and I had an interesting and fruitful conversation on calling something "fictional" and video games; it's been copied to Talk:Disgaea.
