[edit] RFerreira
Final: (0/7/1); Closed per WP:NOTNOW by Useight at 20:31 27 May 2008 (UTC)
RFerreira (talk · contribs) - Hello everyone. My name is RFerreira and I feel I've finally reached a point where I'm comfortable with the mop and bucket here, should the community allow. I have been a contributor to Wikipedia since the summer of 2006 and have accrued approximately 3,500 various edits to the project since that time.
I am pretty much a wikignome around here, editing quietly, fixing mistakes within articles, correcting vandalism, participating in deletion discussions, making reports to AIV noticeboard, and tagging articles as appropriate when they meet a speedy deletion criteria. In particular I plan to help out more in CSD clean up and page move requests which require the assistance of an admin.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to any questions you may have to ask me. RFerreira (talk) 18:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Questions for the candidate
Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve Wikipedia as an administrator. It is recommended that you answer these optional questions to provide guidance for participants:
- 1. What admin work do you intend to take part in?
- A: In particular I plan to help out more in CSD clean up and page move requests which require the assistance of an admin.
- 2. What are your best contributions to Wikipedia, and why?
- A: It would be difficult for me to select a "best" contribution but as a whole I try to dedicate my time to improving the overall quality of the articles we have to offer.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or have other users caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A: Nothing springs to mind but should I encounter any such conflict I would talk it out with the person in question or bring it to the appropriate community noticeboard.
[edit] Optional questions from Gwynand
- 4. On March 12th (2.5 months ago), you stop editing, then today return and immediately apply for adminship. Would you mind explaning this?
- A: For personal reasons I needed to take brief break, and I felt that upon my return I would like to help make a greater difference.
- 5. It appears that in all of your AfD votes (I have yet to find one otherwise) you are the very last to vote, in most cases after the likely outcome of the AfD appears quite clear. Is there a reason for this?
- A:

[edit] Oppose
- Oppose for now I have always been a fan of the all arounders as I like to call them - editors who don't have one specific purpose on Wikipedia but who, rather, do a little bit of everything, depending on their mood or any perceived need for help at a certain part of the project. However, I personally believe (and others may disagree with me) that I haven't seen enough of that kind of communication and activity from you that would help me make a better judgement call on you as an administrator. I would also like to see you use the edit summaries a lot more than you do now, currently you only use them about 50% of the time. I think you will be a good
editoradministrator one day but I can't lend my support just yet. SWik78 (talk • contribs) 18:56, 27 May 2008 (UTC) - Oppose I can't see much evidence of CSD involvement, so it's hard to judge the user's readiness for this type of work. The short answers above, the recent inactivity, and the lack of article-writing experience also make me wary. Epbr123 (talk) 19:00, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose - too much tearing down, not enough building. drive-by tagging, poor use of edit summaries, especially when removing text. not much effort put into answering questions and the long inactivity prior to the RFA is peculiar. xenocidic ( talk ¿ review ) 19:08, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose - Candidate pretty much stated they are solely interested in doing CSD work, but I do not see too many solid contributions in that area. Also, poor answers to questions make me oppose. Tiptoety talk 19:09, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose - Experience concerns. I don't see much CSD work, there is minimal communication with editors. These are especially unhelpful [1] and [2] and uncivil. Wisdom89 (T / C) 19:32, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose per all above. GreenJoe 20:09, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose not enough CSD contributions (the field that user wishes to specialize in), less than 50% of his edits are in mainspace, poor use of edit summmaries. --Patar knight - chat/contributions 20:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Neutral
- Would like longer answers, if applicable. Rudget (Help?) 18:30, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- (Switched to oppose)Echoing Rudget's request, especially because the majority of the copy-paste responses to Q1 do not require admin tools. Also because, candidate did not read self-nom instructions thoroughly. xenocidic ( talk ¿ review ) 18:37, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I hope I've addressed both of your issues above, and have amended my answers accordingly. The focus of my work as an administrator would be with CSD clean up and page moves which require the correct bits to make that happen. RFerreira (talk) 18:41, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
